Azeroth's departure zone /
HSwMS Hammer
A pair of massive double doors slid aside with a low pneumatic sigh. The corridor outside the CIC was dimly lit, but the command room itself was even more so. He took a few seconds to acclimate his eyes to the darkness before stepping inside.
"Captain on deck!" came the habitual call from the sentry by the door. "As you were," he replied immediately, not wanting to disturb the motions of preparing the ship for departure nor causing superfluous ceremony.
"Captain," the stern voice of his new second-in-command announced, "we have nearly finished taking on stores. Engineering reports all green."
"Thank you, Mr Shine. We take in the brow at 1400."
"Aye, captain. Brow in at 1400."

Gor'mazz
Location:
Azeroth's Departure Zone
Looking for all the world like a lost puppy, Gor'mazz wandered the Departure Zone, glancing at the ships randomly. The orc had two blaster pistols strapped to his waist. He wore a leather vest and brown shorts, very unappealing, but the orc didn't seem to mind.

Jack jumped as his dataslate thurmmed again. On producing it and scanning the words he beamed brightly and only partially stifled an inner squeal. "I'm popular! Eee! I hope I don't get invited to any gangs," he piped cheerily while thumbing back a reply.
Pilots and airmen. Maybe fighters and sciencey people, but only good ones, lol.

"Yeah! Yep, you sure are. No doubt. The rest of them are over there," he informed the red elf with a gesture towards the booth occupied by Mishka and Ten. "See 'em? Right nnnnnyuere. The angry orc and the thin dude. You should probably join them. I'll be along in a bit. If they ask tell them that."
The orc nodded, clearly unsurprised. "Keep you behind the front lines." Mishka began to spin the man's datapad lazily on the table between them. "Do you need a co pilot or the like?"

"No. I work fine--better--alone," Ten answered. Almost as if he became aware of his own fingers and their annoying tapping, he ceased the motion, and grabbed hold of the cuff of his sleeve to stall the habit from being repeated.

Mishka, Jack Pytheas Carter

Azeroth, Departure Zone
Though she noticed the twitch, Mishka said nothing, merely filing the information away for potential use. Old habits died hard like the puppy you had to shoot when you were five. Nevertheless, his position was one she could well sympathize with, and she would prefer someone she might be able to predict than some unknown quantity.
"Alright. I suppose you'll do," she grudgingly acceded. Taking out her datapad once more she keyed through the Slates and to the contract files for pilots. Selecting the appropriate document she filled in the proper spots left blank.
Employer:
Jack Pytheas Carter
, funder:
Sharded Shipping
, the name of the ship:
Masallian Steedl
, reversed the pad and slid it across the table for Ten to sign his name in the spot left blank, right beside the one Jack would need to sign as well to confirm it.

Ten slid out a stylus and promptly signed a concise, jagged

Her face betrayed her confusion moments before her frustration. "Wait for- Dammit where'd he go!" she hissed finally noticing the empty seat at her side. The orc slid from the booth to stand in the open where she scanned the entire bar in obvious consternation.

Mael first raised a eyebrow but when Jack had finished talking she noded understandingly.
"Then until we meet again. Al diel shala!" The blood elf dressed in red spoke happily and bowed her head, then left her seat and made her way to the albino and the orc, the later have seemingly vanished when Mael arrived. Never the less she took the seat the orc had warmed.
"Bal'a dash, malanore. I am to join your Thule expedition. The one called Pytheas has recruited me." Mael said to Ten, still with a smile on her face.

"Well, that would explain where Jumpy went," Ten said lazily, equally unenthusiastically examining the Sin'dorei. He took his datapad from the tablet and thumbed open a chat channel. "So, Red," he began, watching the screen instead of her, "what's your riveting inclusion to this mission?"

Okay. It's hanger 8. 8).

Pytheas stared at the numbers illuminated in blocky green, lining them up in his head. Something about them seemed odd, off, as if they connected in some way that should be very important.
On the other hand, there were peanuts on that table!
"Hi. Hey Mishka."
Mishka whirled about, finding Pytheas before her with a wicker basket of peanuts. "Where did you go?"
"Want one?"
"No. No I don't." Mishka pushed the proffered basket of nuts away. "Ten will do." She clapped a hand upon his shoulder and directed him towards the exit. She should really tie a bell or something around his neck...
"We're leaving," she called back to Ten and the sudden appearance of an elf.

"Or just tell me on the way. Duty calls," Ten said, inclining his head at Mishka's statement and slipped out of his booth. He slipped his datapad into his jacket, but not before hitting send on the message lying in wait.
Got a ride. Tell Quinn the deal is still on.
He smirked to himself, and followed after the orc and the hyperactive human.

Kalraevanda
Draenor, Lower City of Shattrath
To Kalraevanda, it would have never occurred to her that her home at one time might have been a ghetto. It was, Shattrath, after all. What a beautiful, and absolutely legitimate province it was, it would have been nothing short of absurd to think that the rich would have shoved the poor right out of the city, who could imagine that? Certainly not her, as she didn't waste time on such thoughts. She may have only have been five hundred seventy seven years old, but that was five hundred years of all business, developing her considerable talents upon whoever would teach her. Whatever couldn't be taught, she stole, and whatever couldn't be stolen, she taught herself.
Of course she had made enemies, both political, social, and figurative, but none seemed to have an edge on her...Yet. The last one that had, as they say, came down with a sudden case of dead. She couldn't help but recall his final words, 'Why do you bother? You have everything already.' A thin smile spread across her features. She answered 'because it's fun' not with words, but with a fire-bolt. She couldn't help but love her job, and her life. It never did get boring.
Fact was, however, she didn't have everything. While everything seemed lined up for her to be one of the most powerful individuals on the shattered world, there were a few details she needed to work out.
Like her siblings.
However, she had friends, and people who owed her favors. It wouldn't be much longer until she called herself duchess. She licked her lips eagerly. She liked the sound of that. Just a few more hundred years. She could be patient when she wanted to be, after all.
She snapped to, stopping her daydreaming. She tugged impatiently(as she was not in the mood for patience) at the collar of her slick bodysuit. Sighing, she flicked her distinctly crimson fingers through her dark, slightly purple hair, then stopped and ran them along her curved horns. While she was certainly draenie, her interesting coloration raised the curious question of her genealogy. Not that anyone truly asked it. No one would be that mad...yet. Besides. Red was in style.
Still impatient yet, she toyed with the distinct and large combat-knife on her hip. She made it a joy to bury it in things, particularly things that twitched as they died, but no proper girl had need of it. When the question arose, she made it a point to say it was only for her self defense. She was only innocent after all.
Still yet, she waited. Maybe she'd do her hooves before the night was over.

His halfway smug grin returned. It was safe to say he understood her dislike of his nicknaming habit--but had little to no desire to do anything about it.
