With the recent release of Fire Emblem: Awakening, and because Interest doesn't like to make threads, I thought I would make one to discuss it.
Here
is the page on Serenes Forest.
Not sure about any of the other games, but it looks like new classes are added. As well as the Tactician class you can play as your in game character.
Hopefully I can play it soon.

Lol I can't believe you actually made it. Incidentally, is anyone actually part of any of the Fire Emblem communities? (I lurk on TEB and Serene's)
Edit: Also as it turns out I'm an enormous idiot. I confused Fire Emblem 12 (
this
) with Awakening. You can mock me now.

Got the game and played a good chunk of it.
All I can say is...the children are !@#$ing overpowered.

I liked some pages at Facebook & they are all like "omg Fire Emblem is awesome!"
What's so special about it?

It's a fun turn-based strategy RPG. Death is permanent in the game and trust me, you'll get attached to some of the characters quickly.

the wii one is freakin hard too
Lunatic+ Awakening and Lunatic Reverse New Mystery of the Emblem would like a word with you (actually Lunatic Awakening w/o grinding, barracks, Streetpass, and other things that would ruin the entire point of the difficulty level seems like it's going to SUCK).

I played through Awakening recently and enjoyed it a lot. Very story and character driven, the way Final Fantasy used to be before Sakaguchi left and the remaining Square staff hosed it all up. A word to the audience: if you like tactical RPGs at all, this should be on your buy list.
Now, this was the first Fire Emblem game I've actually played, although I am certainly no stranger to tactical RPGs in general (those comprise over half of my non-PC game collection). That being said, I found Lunatic difficulty utterly ludicrous. This was not merely
hard
, this was
brutal
to the point that there was only
one potentially
winning strategy on each map, and even
that
was highly subject to RNG luck. I ended up abandoning the playthrough after grinding on the DLC maps until I out-leveled a chapter's mobs by 10 levels, and still finding most of my characters dying in one hit. It seemed rather pointless to play a "tactical" RPG where only one tactic
maybe
works -- that's just a really fancy sudoku puzzle at that point.
Oh, and if you manage to survive Lunatic to completion, your reward is unlocking a higher difficulty that's even
more
subject to RNG.
But at least Normal and Hard are fun.

Oh don't worry, if you're not too bothered by it.
Just make a female Avatar, get Ignis, pair with Chrom, and make the most overpowered children ever.
Also
Do tons of EXPonential growth, obviously.
