Well, as an exclusively Horde RPer, I think I can help.
1. First, you're going to have to figure out your stance on Garrosh. Even if your character is just impassive on the matter, everyone in the Horde has some kind of opinion on what the Warchief is doing. I don't know how up to speed you are, but in late Cataclysm Garrosh nuked Theramore and has vowed to exterminate the Alliance. He is requiring every member of the Horde contribute to the war effort in some way, and has demanded that they all renew their pledges of loyal service. Some folks (the orcs) are thrilled with Garrosh's dominance, but a lot of other people are really apprehensive about it.
2. Goblin priest is an interesting concept to flesh out. Goblins are all about profit, materialism, and pleasure of the flesh. All of those fly in the face of traditional Holy Light philosophies. However, that doesn't mean the idea is impossible (obviously Blizzard thinks so, or we wouldn't be able to play them). You could make him a wealthy hypocritical televangelist type, exploiting peoples religious needs for profit. Or you could have him be an honest-to-goodness priest that was somehow turned from the typical goblin mindset because of a near-death experience or something.
3. Figure out how far you want to take your character, RP-wise. Goblins has traditionally been very flat characters. You could replace almost any goblin with any other and not even notice a difference. As an RPer you can choose to play the stereotypical goblin, or you can try digging deeper. Fleshing out a goblin would be difficult, because you risk them coming off as unbelievable or losing the kooky charm that comes with them, but there is also a lot to gain by digging in and figuring out what your character is really feeling any why. You'll need to establish a mental baseline somewhere between serious introspection and silly comic relief.
Welcome to the board, by the way.

I don't blame your confusion, at all. I play a Draenei priest, and something I noticed is how drastic the different talent specs are with this class. DKs and warriors have it easy lol, but this can work to your advantage.
If you are a discipline priest, that means you maybe just studied the light hard enough that you feel you can make a buck off of it. If you are a holy priest, that means maybe you've done something to please the light in your works. If you are a shadow priest, you can play that as more of a scummy character and get away with it.
I think Goblins are really fun, and they make a good addition to any RP group. As you explore, I hope you find a spot you fit in and find something enjoyable about your very unique character approach.

Warriors are as complicated as you make them. I could roll 10 warriors and none would be the same RPwise.
I don't think we're talking about complexity of character as much as where a character's power source comes from. Goblins are typically vile creatures, so why is this particular Goblin a good priest and capable of wielding the Light? A warrior is a good warrior because he is physically strong, though perhaps motivated by many different blah blah blah it gets more complicated as you flesh it out from there.

Goblins are typically vile creaturesSay what? Goblins are motivated by the Almighty Dollar sure, but there isn't anything that says they are all vile...amoral and willing to sell their own mother sure, but not vile.

I kinda like the idea of a goblin who was shocked into religion. Like a near death experience makes him rethink his values, if only to make sure that he's good to go on the heaven thing.

I like this idea, if you haven't rolled a Goblin before... i recommend doing the starting zone. These little green characters, can be shaped into anything. Since the history of them is rather good. Because of so many angles you can use.

How do you skip the starting zone? I've rolled like 3 goblins and I'm sick of it.
Honestly, the starting zone for the Goblins is great because it really gives you a chance to see Goblin culture at its purist as well as Goblin culture and Goblin characters being faced with a reason to pick up a sword and fight. If you want to roleplay a Goblin, it's a great way to sort of take notes and see what the world sets up the race to be like. But, once is enough.

You don't. That would be the equivalent of skipping the first 12 levels of your character's progress. You're tired of a particular starting zone? Switch to another race.
Don't be an ass; people get tired of starting zones. That's why I'm never rolling another Worgen character(well that, and I dislike the race anyways).

I have gotten tired of the BE zone so much you have NO IDEA.
Aye, I can no longer do the original race ones, but that doesn't stop me from making a new Dwarf or Gnome heh.

Get a Warlock to summon you out of the starting zone. I think it might be possible, summon to another low level starting area.

It's not; you can't leave the DK, Worgen, Goblin or Pandaren starting zone till you finish the final quests.

Which is so painful, and such a bad design choice imo.
There is one single way to 'skip' the starting zone, iirc.
Let's say you want to level a goblin, but prefer the Orc starting zone. Create an Orc, and do a paid race change to Goblin.
Bam, no goblin starting zone. (I've personnally never tried, as I would rather power my way through the zone than pay for the race change, but hey.)
