"Erm..." Peter looked back, then forth, but any protests he may have considered vanished at once when confronted with seeing the steel in Irene's eyes. With nothing left for it, he followed her once more.

Irene looked inside the ammo pouch she received. While she would have much more preferred to have bullets, the quantity of cartridges was sufficient. She looked back to make sure Peter didn't get lost and followed the signs.

Peter kept pace with Irene, occasionally looking about the tall buildings with wonder and shying away from the crowds.

Spotting a particularly dense crowd, Irene grabbed Peter's hand and wedged her way through a bit forcefully(even for such a small girl as herself) to pass over to the district subject to holding the stockades and through it.

Peter sucked in a sharp breath as he was tugged through the crowd, squirming in discomfort at the clsoe press of bodies. he clasped Irene's hand like a lifeline in the sea of people, trusting in her to take them to safer climes.

Irene pressed her way out of the crowd, hopefully with Peter in tow just outside the Stockade gates. She looked up for a moment then entered.

Peter glanced about as he was pulled inside of the Stockades, feeling the weighted atmosphere of the place bear down on him. it was stifling inside, with every stone written with suffering and the rafters filled with the wails of the guilty. He swallowed thickly, but stayed by Irene's side despite his discomfort.

Irene was either simply undisturbed by, or unaware of the atmosphere. She stopped at the desk, "I'm looking for someone who was arrested yesterday. He had brown hair-" She abruptly stopped speaking when the man at the desk vanished underneath it.

"E-eh?" Peter gaped. He looked around and made to lean over the desk.

"WHATCANIDOFORYOU?" A different man blurted out, wearing the same uniform the previous man was, but far more ruffled up. The man himself was ruffled up, his eyes were wild and lopsided, and his teeth all but gone.
Irene blinked, "Um...I'm looking for someone who was arrested yesterday. He was young, had brown hair, he was arrested for...Attacking a girl..."
The 'officer' nodded blankly for a moment, "Ooooh you's talkin about newmeatyum! That's what I callim, newmeatyum. Looks deeeeelicious. He's down in the craaazy zone! You just goooo thattaway! And, tellem' I sent'ya. But you don't know who I am, then I'd have to kill'ya."
Irene stared for a moment, quite disturbed. She nodded awkwardly and shrank away from the man's bizarre gaze, towards the prison.

Peter eyed the clearly deranged man in wonder before slowly backing away with Irene, making sure he kept the man in his field of vision until they were out of abrupt leaping distance.

Irene shook her head as she descended down the stairs.
"DAMNIT HOOKS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT OF YOUR CELL?"
"I'M AN OFFICER OFFICER, YALL DON'T RECOGNIZE ME! I'M DELICIOUS! DELIIIIIIIIIICIOOOOOOOOOOOOOUS!"
She merely shook her head at the sound of the ensuing scuffle.

Peter hustled alongside Irene, his face drawn and looking at the various cells with obvious concern and aversion.

Max shot his eyes to the bars of the cell. He could distantly hear approaching footsteps.
"Shh! Shut up! All of you!" he hissed. With a flick of his fingers the light vanished. Being the only human, he rose to his feet and wandered over to the door, peering through the bars and into the hall.
