Hi guys,
Just thinking about starting a Shaman in mop.
i used to play Feral/Resto Druid before, i really like it's solo capability.
Overall i love to play solo.. old content / BGs / i love questing a lot (old quests too) and so on. I think only hybrid classes are good for me.
i thinking to start shaman for a while but never started
Could you please inform me about Shaman's solo capability in 5.0.4?
Not just for old content but overall (questing (group quests too), BGs, old raid, rares, and so on). What about self heal, absorbs, shields, cc, defense CDs, gear, ..?
About old raid i like Kara,MC... and BT, and if possible i would like to try some Wotlk raids but mainly interested in older contents
i'am interested mainly about melee shaman i'am not really like caster-only classes but overall i think elementals are not bad!
btw: my shaman will be ench/resto because in groups i really like healing (with my druid i always healing in groups)
Thanks!

So you want people to tell you what you can and can't do? Get out there and find your own limits and then surpass them! That's the joy of soloing old world raids. Figure out what can you do and what do you need to overcome obstacles.
To get you started however....
BWL need 2nd person for first boss unless you can bug it out like hunters do somehow
Black Temple same deal unless you can super nuke him down before he bubbles. not sure if its based on % health or a timer
ssc will suck as you have mana but its doable (use the right totem)
Be careful and learn what fight mechanics you still have to care about and what you dont.

Just looking for a hybrid who can do solo well and i think maybe Shaman will good for me.
Druid is OK but in mop i want something else and i don't love pally
It's okay that i can't solo raids because of the boss mechanics i think other classes has that "limit" too
And as i sad i'am not just interested in old contents but solo BGs (for example defense points, help to flag carrier) and also healing in group (btw i think it's not a problem to heal in 5mans HCs) and BG healing too
Simply i don't know what can a Shaman do good and not good.
but yes it's all depends on my skills

Have any elemental shaman managed to solo BT? I've been meaning to try but in the past I've always done it with 2-4 people. That fear-head boss is annoying. Also to share some personal experience I tried to do Hyjal but the first boss killed me quickly, I'm sure there's some mechanic I don't understand.

If you're starting up a new class, Shaman is rough sledding for soloing raid content that is challenging. The base defense isn't as high as plate wearers, and self-healing is still less than Paladin or Blood DK during combat. Not saying it can't be done with skill, but there's a reason that you see most solos being pulled off first by Blood DK's, then Paladin then maybe Hunter.

Sorry, that's a no on the BT for myself but I just wanted to give you a heads up on Hyjal since I just recently soloed it on my rogue. The first boss, Rage Winterchill, killed you because of his Death and Decay that he drops. It deals a percentage of your health and the effect is -way- bigger than the little graphic he drops. If you look closely or turn effects way the hell up you'll notice red smoke bubbling from the ground outside of that graphic. As long as you stay out of that area and spend your time off target healing, he and the rest of the run should be cake.
