I think the biggest thing was the new raid, Dragon Soul, and the Looking for Raid System.
The LFR is a tool that allows you to go through and fight the bosses in a raid much the same way you do random dungeons. You'll get grouped with 24 others and have to do 4 bosses in DS. From each boss you'll get loot, such as armor, weapons, trinkets and tokens for gear. With that, they made it where the only way to get tier gear is to get the token from a boss. No more buying it with Valor Points.
The looting system is a little bit faulty though, but come Mists that will be changed. Right now players roll on items, and depending on their roll they will get a roll bonus. This is to prevent a DPS from getting a tank/healing item and the same for each spec.
As for class wise, fire mages are really good now. They had several spells buffed up so they have much better sustained damage during a fight. Arcane mages still have really great on-demand burst.
