Um.... the only people who know will be Wowhead staffers..........
You should have posted this in the Wowhead feedback section.

I don't think it's been three days since I checked the guide queue but if it has been then you have my sincere apologies.

In my experience, if you submit on a Friday you probably won't see it approved of until after the weekend. If you haven't heard back by the end of the day tomorrow (Monday), send an email to the team via the Feedback button next to your name in the top right corner about it.

As everyones said, its kind of a wait and see. Also, if you feel like it's been too long send them an email. I've had some guides take a day and some take a week. (Or close to.) Just have patience, they will get to it.

Just because you approved of it now because someone called your attention to it doesn't mean that the trend changes. I rarely, if ever, see new guides appear over the weekend.

Well, contacting feedback if it's been a couple of days is good advice but items that enter the various moderation queues (of which the guide approval queue is one) are maintained by volunteers. The good side of this is that volunteers don't keep office hours and 5 day work-weeks but the bad side is that our time is fluid and we can't always guarantee to have time to give at specific times.
I don't think there's a pattern involving weekends in this case but contacting feedback is always a good idea if you have a query about a submitted guide.

Of my 4 guides atleast 2 were submitted on a Thursday/Friday and none of those were approved until into the next week. So while I didn't make a report on it at the time, I'm just pointing out that there is a trend for sure. I understand moderators are volunteers but I still feel like there should be a definitive turn-around time. If the mods lifes are so hectic and it will take a week, the guide page should say "...it could take a week." Otherwise, people expect it to only take a day or two. The worlds in a rush. Might not be convienant but such is life.

Two cases really isn't a trend but your point and suggestion are totally fair. I'll bring it up for discussion amongst the staff and maybe we can work out a better way to tackle this.
The issue here is mostly due to the addition of new guides being a relatively rare thing. If it were a daily occurrence then it quickly becomes habit to check it daily. Since it's rather rarer than that it quickly becomes habit to check it less often.

Might be nice if they fell in the same queue, or a combined queue, of things that are habitually viewed by moderators.
