*spirit of grom fades into the sky*
*Thrall walks over slowly to the shattered gorehowl, and picks it up*
Thrall: The weight of such a burden, it must be mine, for there is no other to-
Bolvar: THRALL!
Hahahahahaa...that is just plain genius. And such a awesome expansion idea! It ends MoP, but it also starts the next expansion where Bolvar goes ballistic.

Didnt have time to read the prior posts, so this may have been said already.
First, this is the first news I have heard that may have swayed my decision on continuing through MoP. I had all but decided to finish out Cata, and take a break through MoP. Combined with the burnout from playing since Vanilla, and honestly, just not being really excited about the info we had up this point, I was planning on "sitting this one out".
The announcment of getting to overthrow a Warchief, that honestly, most of us have hated from the start, that killed one of my favorite characters Lore-Wise, and replaced my favorite character Lore-Wise, was possibly enough to make me stick around. (TBH, some of the other new info helped as well, but this was the biggie)
Now, I wish we knew, but I doubt we will, if this will re-install Thrall as Warchief. I really think it would be the icing on the cake for many of us if it did.
One other question I would love to have answered.....was this known at the time of Blizzcon, or was this added in as a way to help fight off the some of the storm that MoP had caused? If it was...I have to give props to the Devs...it was pretty darn brilliant!

I theorized something like this would eventually happen, and quite honestly I'm more than a little annoyed at how it played out. Garrosh always came off abrasive and antagonistic, and so was Varian, which set the two factions up nicely for the conflict come Cataclysm, and with Thrall giving Gasrrosh the title it all worked out.
But then I realized what this meant. Essentially, Blizzard spared Thrall any real agonizing or character changing decisions that needed to be made, giving him the easy ones that had clear cut decisions of right and wrong with no grey. Thrall goes off on his elemental hunt, and Garrosh essentially takes the fall for any and all decisions that would have had to be made for survival in such a time of upheaval.
I'll be the first to admit that Garrosh went off the slippery slope here and there, and was as dense as a rock for many events, but at the same time the whole situation with Cataclysm seemed tailor made to prevent Thrall having to make the sorts of decisions that leaders have to make, but might have tainted his pristine colour.
Then, when an expansion more or less made to end hostilities between the factions that is MOP, Thrall comes back in with a storm of silver trumpets and cheers from all to depose the man he left in charge and announce peace, only after the major tensions and deciding events between the two sides have come and gone, leaving him to blame the old guy and reap the praise for doing so.
It just seems to me a touch insulting that Thrall can be spared the defining moments that demand the mettle of a leader, decisions that characters such as: Arthas failed, Kael'Thas failed, Varian struggled with, Sylvanas made for good or ill, but he as Warcraft's poster boy escaped scot free with a new wife and child on the way.

When you mentioned Illidan and Lich King, it made me think about fight mechanics...
There couldn't be any dubious magic tricks, as he's not even close to anything like that... It'll be interesting to see, how would they turn it all out.

The Boss-fight itself can be pretty spectacular even without Garrosh using magic of any sort. Garrosh is a warrior, how about he uses warrior-like abilities with a twist?
After the players have battled through Garroshes two bodyguards- mini-boss stylee fight (as bodyguards its that Dragonmaw female cheftain as well as Eitriggs son) a cutscene follows where Thrall, Vol´Jin, and Wrynn accompanies the players into Garroshes chamber and talks to him, saying stuff like: "This madness ends here" "Remember what i said after Arthas fell mon!" etc etc.
Garrosh goes ballistic, gets into berserker stance, swoops up both Thrall and Vol´jin by the foot and dual wields them both as weapons Titan Grip style. Phase 1 starts. Garrosh uses bloodthirst, raging blow, whirlwinds and intimidating shouts. Both Vol´jin and Thrall screams in pain and terror as they are swung around as weapons. During phase 1 Wrynn aids the players with feeble melee dps.
When Garrosh is pushed to 66% he heroic throws them both away targetting the two people furthest away. Both Vol´jin and Thrall are knocked unconcious and are bleeding - they will need healing, else they will die.
Then its phase 2. Garrosh turns his attention to Wrynn, picks him up as well as a onehander. Wrynn is being used as a shield when garrosh goes into defensive stance prot. warrior mode. Every time Garrosh blocks, Wrynn takes damage and screams like a little girl. If Wrynn dies-he wont be able to help out in ph3 which is a hardmode achievement. Garrosh is highly mobile in this phase as he is "tanking" charging around, switching targets at random. Using devastate, thunderclap, cleave, charge and concussion blows.
When Garrosh is at 33% the final phase starts. Garrosh is now a arms warrior, wielding Gorehowl. Both Thrall, Vol´jin and the battered Wrynn aids the players in this phase. Garrosh does insane damage, which is increased by 10% for each of the three that dies. Garrosh uses a stacking mortal strike, slam, and rend on a random nearby opponent.

I could see Warlord Zaela being a Garrosh loyalist, however I doubt Eitrigg's son will be. Considering he sided with his father against his own native clan, I doubt he'd throw his support behind someone like Garrosh who is opposed to everything Eitrigg stands for.
