What's wrong with WoW and what we can do to make it better

I don't know if it's just me, but I have noticed alot of posts stating that WoW's gonna die soon and the game is getting boring, etc. Of course there are always people who complain and an empty vessel makes the loudest voice, but I think that all the threads that have popped up recently are unusually many, and aren't really asking the right questions.
So, I wanted to try to set things straight, WoW will eventually be shut down, but people seem to focus rather on
if
it's gonna happen, but not
what Blizzard can do to make WoW live longer
.
Now, I want to know what you want to see changed in this game, what you want to add in it and what you would want to be removed from it, and what the main problem is which has caused this unease in the community (well, if it is not just in my head :D).
Personally, I think that WoW has reached a age where people are tired of the main concept, and need something completely new and fresh change from it's old game (not saying anything like WoW 2, but you get my point).
Mists of Pandaria sounds promising, but they aren't really taking any risks. Pet battles are cool, but they could just as well be a Darkmoon Faire mini-game, making both a new class and race is also a good idea, but they could have things bigger. I think they should have made the Emerald Dream the next expansion, since it offers so much, while MoP is just the same formula as the other expansions.
Thanks for reading this, and let mee know what you think in the comments :D

Example - next expansion talent trees...
Compare them to WoTLK talent trees...
Now you see what community does...
It makes this game much better?

I'm tired of the repetitive grind of points. It's the same over and over again. Also, as much as I did like the dungeon finder it completely removed the ability to group and meet people easily.
This game is just old, same same all the time.

Well I think I explained some of the problems nicely in my Suggestion Compilation thread I made.

End the Horde vs. Alliance war. Let the story mature, like it was attempting by the end of WC3.
Oh, and remove pop culture references. They used to be funny, but Blizz has kind of overdone it in Cata. I expect many in MoP.
I think there is alot more that could have been done with the Horde/Alliance dynamic and with the faction leaders in the game. That part of the game has been so static and stale over the years. You basically had faction leaders doing nothing but standing around in their respective home cities all the way up to wotlk. Then it was basically just Wrynn and Thrall arguing a little in the toc tier, Sylvanas making a few appearances and the attack on the uc. Nothing major has really happened at all in terms of the whole war between the two factions other than Varian coming back and now Thrall leaving to become guardian of Tirisfal or w/e he is now. I think they are afraid to do anything real major with it even if they say that will be a big theme in the next exp. I wanna see Garrosh and Varian fight to the death in a cinematic, and Sylvanas or Vol'jin put an arrow in Garrosh's back when it appears he might actually win.

What I think is wrong is that you get epics like greenies, I want epics to be epic again. What I mean is that you should put allot of effort to gain ur epics, not just "ah, well.. let's do a dung" 2 min later "oh HAI EPICS!11!1winwinwin!111111!" You get my point :)

This isnt new, it happens every time new content is due to be released.

I think that the Emerald Dream will be the next expansion after MoP.

Don't think you could do that, as the end of the Third War(Founding of Durotar) shows that old hatreds still exist and will constantly get in the way.

unfortunately after seeing my nephews little league give out a trophy to the everyone who participated no matter how bad the player/team was...which rendered the value of the trophy null and void... compared to when I was growing up and only the champs got the trophy.
I got to figure these same adults are now working for Blizz too...so epic no more.
funny... I was flippin through the channels I happen to catch a "60 minutes" segment where some social professor was saying that today's generation thinks they should win every time and always expects a reward.
Kind of sounds like the typical player that WoW is enlisting these days.

The players.
indeed that is the answer. The community is abysmal, made up mostly of egotistical maniacs (or at least so they behave) and pathological complainers.
They WILL complain about anything and everything, and the very same people will complain about the "solution" to a "problem" even if that "solution" were exactly what they had claimed would "fix" it.
They complain about lack of content when they never even looked at 99% of the content, they complain about the talent system not allowing choice when they themselves never try anything different but the
'perfect' specs posted on some website by others.
They complained about WotlK being too slow and large, now they complain about Cataclysm being too fast and small (when Cataclysm was made smaller because in part the complaints about WotlK being too large).
They complain raids are too hard and take too long for the majority of the population (they are, to a degree), then complain that it's "not fair" when Blizzard makes them a tad easier so more people can enjoy them (or at least the initial parts of them, they will still take more time to complete than most people can put in before the instance unlocks).
They claim they're quitting every week for years but never do, or if they do continue to troll forums and blogs with made up stories about how bad things are they've never seen.
And a lot of people (mostly newcomers who haven't experienced things for themselves) lap up those complaints and repost them elsewhere as fact when in fact they're nothing of the sort but merely opinions and lies.
Of course things aren't perfect, but that's life. Nothing ever is.
IMO however Cataclysm is some of the best content Blizzard has ever put out (except the armour models, but that's personal taste), I just wish there were more of it :)
Coming to Wow fresh this year after giving it a shot in vanilla and giving up in disgust, things have improved massively in the game over the years.
TBC is a bit bleh, WotlK is mostly fun if a bit slow, Cata is great. Classic content, remade in the Cataclysm, is a lot better than it was in vanilla.
Problem is the longtime players have all played through those old zones so often there's no challenge in it for them any longer. This is unavoidable unless Blizzard were to make those zones far far harder than they are or ever have been, which would put up such a massive roadblock to new subscribers who don't have that experience that they'll give up before their trial even runs out.
When I started this year with my first toon, it took me over a week to reach the lvl20 cap for my trial account. Now, playing the same amount of time each day, I can reach that lvl20 cap in under a day.
For someone who's been playing for 3-4 years, even that may be slow (though certainly in low level zones the majority of questing for an experienced player consists of travelling, something that can't be sped up much when on foot once you know the map a bit).
So they claim it's "been made" too easy, when in fact it's they themselves who've made it too easy simply by being so experienced at it.

I would enjoy Blizzard bumping the age requirement to 18+. Getting rid of the age 10 to 14 part of the community will be quite an improvement.
