I think I have to disagree with warriqt, Spirit Link Totem is our best panic button (how much does that suck?).
Despite it's drawbacks, it can drop very large heal as an instant cast, given the right circumstances. And it does provide a modest damage reduction while it's up. Of course, as our only other panic button is a NS/GHW macro, there's not much competition for "best" panic button. But there we are.
Just try not to get into too many panic situations; and if you do, just make sure you have a Ret Pally around to Lay on Hands for you </bitter>

in conclusion: not worth the point.
Which point? The one you are substracting from
?
What would you rather have an strong situational cooldown that you need to be aware of fight mechanics and class mechanics to be used properly or 1500 more healing on dispel?

^ Exactly, Spirit Link Totem has already prevented a wipe for me 3 times in 5 mans and once in a 10 man raid. The same cannot be said for the 2nd point in
for example.

Meh. They are just too situational for me. Maybe give me a shorter CD and I'd be more prone to use it, but I always feel like "if i use it now and don't actually need it, it's wasted"

I do more dispelling than standing in a group with 4 or more of my raid members.
I assumed I'd get called out on my statement, so I'm not surprised I'm prolly one of the few who doesn't use it, especially NS, but I'll stick with my decisions.
lol. niko must be rubbing off on me with the horrid English :(

Learning how and when to use your CDs is part of the game. All the tanks have a 50% damage mitigation spell on a 3min CD. This is no different really. You're better off at least trying to learn how to use it well than not taking the talent; you lose nothing by taking the talent (1 point in Cleansing Waters as an example).

Do Majordomo with mediocre DPS. If you don't rotate Divine Guardian/Aura Mastery/Spirit Link Totem in the last scorpion phase people are definitely going to die. And that's just on normal.

I think the major issue with your example is the "mediocre dps".

Spirit link totem is an incredible talent, and calling it 'situational' when you have a point in Cleansing Waters is just.. hilarious.
Condescending! That's a good way to support your side.
Ah well. Guess I was asking for it by making my initial post have an overlay of attitude.
Guess I'll step out for now.

In raids, Cleansing Waters is more situational than Spirit Link Totem. Maybe not hilarious but it's certainly a good chuckle. You can use Spirit Link Totem on every single fight in Firelands (Baleroc would be tough to use though) while Cleansing Waters can only be used on two out of seven bosses in T12 normal. Yeah...

Sure, you can use it in just about every fight. If we're basing a spell/abilities usefulness on whether or not it CAN be used and not on whether it's Needed, then I'm stumped on the whole argument to begin with.

I am fairly sure there is a max number for it even if you respec on daily basis. Number so small that if it stops you from respeccing you shouldnt call yourself cheap, you just should call yourself lazy.
