I only watched Nintendo's press conference, because that's the only one I cared about. Let's just say that I'm pretty-$%^&ing-excited.
One of the announced titles is Aliens: Colonial Marines. I can already see the possibilities here: Controller = motion tracker?

Expound? I'm a little confused =P

One of the announced titles for the Wii U is a game based on the Alien series of movies - given the subtitle (Colonial Marines), likely Aliens (the second, and most action-oriented of the series). One of the most memorable things from Aliens (at least for me) are the motion trackers - handheld devices that, well . . .track motion. They're used to build intensity and suspense in the film, as the clusters of dots on the screen of the tracker, and the pinging noise, slowly indicate the approaching doom.
So I'm already envisioning that the screen on the Wii U's controller will act like the motion tracker display, showing as foes (or possibly allies) come closer and closer to your character...

That does sound pretty gool.
Wasn't there already an Alien shooter out?

There've been a couple. I haven't played the most recent one, but I had a lot of fun running around in the old AvP game. In it you could play as the alien, and just like the 'xenomorph' in the films, you could run straight up walls and across ceilings. It was disorienting, but nothing was more fun than dropping down through the shadows and landing on top of a Marine to rip his spine out...

Skyward Sword is the first Zelda game to ever interest me. However, not so much that I can see buying the system just yet. We'll wait and see more first.

Well, there are plenty of other games worth buying. For example, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. :)
I couldn't care less about Mario games in 2011 lol

Fair enough. I've never been a hardcore gamer, so I don't play much at all; my recommendations might not be what they would enjoy.
And that's fine. We all have different preferences and I know a ton of people love the Mario games. I just got my fill of it back in the late 80s / early 90s when it was new. I didn't really like the old Zelda games, though, but this one will supposedly have decent graphics and the Wii U has the potential to be a console I'd actually enjoy playing it on.
The only thing I really ever play anymore is WoW because I feel like I'm wasting my time if I play another game because the progress isn't ongoing and publicly available.

My first console was a Gamecube, despite the fact that I'm 19 now... -_-
Anyway, Metroid Prime was what drove me to request a Gamecube rather than a PS2 or Xbox (well, that and that my next choice, the PS2, only have two controller slots and I had 4 siblings at the time).
But I have a lot of favorite from the Gamecube era: Super Mario Sunshine (I don't get why people hated this game), LoZ: The Wind Waker (ditto), Mario Kart: Double Dash (also ditto), Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee...
Nintendo's first-party games was what drove me to get a Wii, as well. In particular, Metroid Prime 3, LoZ: Twilight Princess, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
As a PC gamer now, I'm not as Nintendo-centric as I used to be, but I'm still cautiously optimistic about the Wii U. I doubt I'll get one for my barracks (or dormitory, as they're now called for some reason... >.>), but it looks fun.
I'll probably get a 3DS, though, so I can play with my family over the internet. Especially since they announced SSB4 for both Wii U and 3DS and that they'll work together somehow.

Super Smash Bros. Melee...
Brawl is better =D

I didn't find prime until a friend lent the Wii version (the trilogy, all three games for Wii) to me, and it was amazing. Sadly, I had to give it back, so I need to go buy Corruption to finish it off.
LoZ: The Wind Waker (ditto)
It's the graphics for me. The game is really good, from what I've played, but I really hate cell-shaded stuff, which is why I'm not looking forward to Skyward Sword.

Do it. I've had one for a while now and I love it.

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution gameplay footage looks really sweet.

I find it kinda odd that you can, for example, just magically get a stealth camo augmentation out of thin air in the middle of a mission (one would expect these sorts of upgrades to only be accessible between missions, during an "upgrade break"), but otherwise the gameplay seems solid. I like the Exp popping up for every enemy disposed too. It also seems like he is getting more exp for enemies that are tranquilized silently, than the enemies killed.

Brawl is better =DHeresy!
I liked Brawl, but its design was too simplistic. To put it simply, Brawl was easy to get good at, but then you hit a glass ceiling where you can't really get much better. In Melee, though, getting good was a tad more difficult, but truly skilled players were
amazing
.

:P
But no, I liked Wind Waker. I liked the sailing, something I am surprised that everyone else, except Yahztee (◔ᴗ◔), hated, and my very favorite part was finding the surprise direct connection with Ocarina of Time.I'll probably get a 3DS, though, so I can play with my family over the internet. At first, I didn't think I would like it, because the 3D effects were going to be %^&*. Actually, I like it, and the effects work quite well. So, I say purchase one! :)Sounds good to me.
I'll have to wait though. Right now I need to spend my money on an external hard drive so I can take all my
porn
computer stuff (funny images, documents, game data, etc.) with me to the Army. Then once I get to AIT or whatever, I'm going to purchase a computer first.
Then
I can start buying handheld electronics.
