Just about every series on HBO takes a year to come out with the new season. Ive been dealing with it since 1999 heh. I suggest anyone that didnt get HBO just for a game of thrones to watch all the great up coming shows starting with Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm this month. Top notch shows leading all the way up to the start of season 2. I am currently anxiously awaiting season 2 of Boardwalk Empire while reading the books to a game of thrones at night.

So I read the first book, and am about half way through the second, and it's the damndest thing, I can't seem to find the scene where the knight of the flowers blows Renly Barathion, nor any evidence that he and ser Loras are even gay together, did they just pull that otta their ass or what?
Also the guy that plays tyrion needs to win a *!@#ing emmy

omg i just saw a Game of Thrones forum and had to say, BEST SHOW EVER! Except for some parts, like the gay love scene, that just creeped me out...

I didn't really mind it that much tbh, it wasn't half as bad as some of the scenes in Spartacus, I just wasn't sure why they put it in there. Kinda like that #$%^& Ros that kept poping up everywhere like Jason Voorhes to bang all the main characters. But besides that shameless exploitation it's a pretty decent show.
EDIT: aww cmon they censor that? W/e it begins with a w and rhymes with bore

Honestly, I don't think it should of been Renly/Loras (Knight of Flowers is a little
too
cliche), but the series does need a gay character.
So anyways, on Monday in Chemistry my teacher was talking about proper equipment and clothing, and she goes "You'll need long sleeves in general, not only to protect yourself, but
winter is coming
and it might get cold in the classroom."
Not sure if Ice and Fire reference...
Or just coincidence.

Near halfway through the second book, it looks like the Starks are going to lose, and Lannisters as well. Highgarden, Storm's End, Dragonstone, Riverrun, and Winterfell teamed up on Casterly Rock and King's Landing seems quite overpowering. But who's to say, one thing I must hand to the Author is that he makes his series rather unpredictable, so who knows, maybe Balon Greyjoy will be king :P

By the time you finish book five,
it will be completely different

Actually the whole Loras/Renly thing is vaguely implied in the books. Keep in mind that G.R.R. Martin had quite a bit of powers over what goes in show and what doesn't, so he must have approved the scene. Forums like Westeros exploded with discussions about this as soon as the episode was aired, and people found some decent evidence that the two are pretty close. Look it up, if you are interested - it's funstuff.

He actually confirmed it, for the books, by Word of God.
