Since no one checks this any more, I'll just dump this quietly in here.
The girl I've been in love with for five years (And have been quietly seeing for at least three) just got engaged.
To you, or...?

Ouch. :/ Was she going out with you and someone else at the same time or.....?

Big hugs, dude.
The old adage about there being plenty of fish in the sea is beautifully true. And for someone as ridiculously awesome as you, you have nothing to worry about. I realize that doesn't help right now though, especially at your tender young age :) Heartbreak just sucks, no two ways about it.

Well, I'm barely eating, so that's not very good, is it? Absolutely ravenous, but put food in front of me and my stomach goes "NOPE!"
Not good at all. Maybe you should try just pushing through it with food. Not so that you're sick or anything, but just to get some food in.
On the topic of food consumption, I'm eating, then throwing up anything remotely spicy or tomato based, so eating out in London is going to be fun. >.>

Right, I need some help and thought I should post in here, because I don't know if it warrants a thread. Basically, I'm writing a holy priest guide atm, and my plans are to use an example of
my character
to demonstrate the mana regen formula, even if her gear is dreadful.
I've used both the wowpedia and the EJ formula, but it doesn't seem to add up either way, although both give almost the same answer. Maths isn't my strong point, hence why I'm asking for help, because I'm probably wrong or using an outdated formula.
EJ Formula:
Spirit Regen = Sqrt(Intellect) * Spirit *.016725
Sqrt(4512) x 2410 x 0.016725 =
2707.495319
WoWpedia Formula:
SpiritRegen(SPI,INT,LEVEL) = (0.001 + SPI * sqrt(INT) * BASE_REGEN) * 5
0.001 + 2410 x sqrt(4512) x 0.003345 =
2707.500319
Where am I going wrong, and could anyone demonstrate the right way?

2707.500319

Let's see.
EJ discarded the 0.001 entirelly. If you see it that way...
SpiritRegen(SPI,INT,LEVEL) = (SPI * sqrt(INT) * BASE_REGEN) * 5
Spirit Regen = Sqrt(Intellect) * Spirit *.016725
BASE_REGEN=0.003345
Being a multiplication, we disregard the parenthesis, and we get
SPI * sqrt(INT) * 0.003345 * 5
And that 0.003345*5=0.016725.
There we go.
Edit: If we simply solve Wowpedia's formula without discarding the 0.001, we'll get the same result + 0.005, which is so negligible that EJ just cut it out, and within reason. It's a simple case of
formula(X,Y,Z) = (0.001 + X *Y* Z) * 5 = 5*0.001 + 5*XYZ. What's 0.005 regen to our current mana pools, really?

That gave the same answer (2707.495319) when I put in Ella's figures, which doesn't add up to what the armory says. :/

Well, there seems to be a discrepancy close to 1000ish in this. I tried calcs on
this
, an ilvl392 priest, for a big contrast with your own, and it came up (through formulas) to 1933, to Armory's 2963. This number is quite significative, as the difference of 1030 is the
exact same your priest's discrepancy shows.
, 2707->3737. This leads me to believe the base, statless, mana regen, is 1030, and the formula calculates adding 1030 to that.
This is a hypothesis only, and should be taken thus. It seems fairilly on spot though, given how precise the number seems to be and how different the subject's item levels are...

That is really strange, and why would that not have been included with either of the formulas? I might have to put that in the guide anyway though, because you're right... it
does
work.

My exact problem. I don't see why anyone would skip such a "detail", because taken without context (Hey, let me test if my priest follows this formula!), one could erroneously assume the formula's utterly baseless, when in fact just a simple factor was left out...
What I assume, and that could be entirelly wrong, is that formula, code-wise, is a programming method. spiritregen(arg1,arg2,arg3) really does call only those arguments. The constant 1030 being added is taken from another part of the code, using only what that method returns; therefore, spirit regen really is calculated that way, but total mana regen isn't exclusivelly from there.

Hmm. That is a sound hypothesis really, and I'll definitely be including it. Thanks a lot for the help, cloud. :)

Patty, you could try PMing someone reasonably involved at EJ; leaf through the forums as there are probably several places you can find people who are in (as it's a general regen formula and nothing class specific). They have quite a few people over there who are scary good at math and have been prodding at this sort of thing for years.
If nothing more definitive is forthcoming from there, cloudp's theory seems sound to me as well (for what it's worth, my programming knowledge hardly being extensive).

Yeah, I might have to make an EJ account then, lol.

Nope, not touched Ella (that sounds so wrong) since May. :P
