i don't know about "already is".
a simmed difference 125dps is not a difference at all - it has zero statistical significance.
but yes, drain spec is pulling ahead in the PTR sims. apparently it stays on top with a simulated latency of up to 700ms(!)
bear in mind though, that affliction is also way out ahead of other specs with the PTR changes included. expect some of the changes we're seeing to be toned down before release.

Unless they decide to buff the other specs to bring it up.

Buff 9 classes to bring them up to speed with 1? Um ... I'm not seeing that happening :p
nvm, misinterpretation >.<

He said spec, not class.
Besides, Blizz are always faster with the nerf bat than any buffs, so I think asa is right, some of the aff changes will most likely get scaled back.

Referring to yourself in 3rd person is win I hear ^_^

i don't really think it's about a propensity to nerf, i think the PTR strategy that we see these days is to buff too much at the start of beta/PTR then chip away throughout testing to reach the sweet spot.
in terms of P(ublic)R(elations) i don't think this is a good strategy - gamers have short memories so when we get small nerfs at the end of testing that's all anyone remembers, they don't see the overall changes any more. however, if this is the best thing in terms of game development then PR be damned!
also, aff doesn't need the buffs from the numbers we see on live (simulated and empirical) so it's a little odd to see such strong buffs for that one spec. there are mechanics that need fixing (the pet issue) so it might be best to expect things to be balanced out to a point where it's a pet fix rather than an out and out buff to output.

This whole patch on ptr is sort of an enigma to me.
Affliction damage is not bad, yet it gets a huge buff combined with the felhunter buff.
This is not what warlocks complain about. (unless they are bad)
Its the pet issue (true, the patch will solve that for affliction) the countless bugs (e.g. soul link disappering, sb soc corruption not getting soulswapped...did they fix that?) fail glyphs (e.g. felhunter) low pressure on dispellers (weak UA, drain mana gone) melee having more gap closers than locks have get away moves and better snares or the rather poor PvP self heal (considering we have to life tap sometimes).

Just a visual change for today. Seems to be focused on pvp again. Your Hand of Gul'dan is now going to look red-ish to enemies.

It's a new thing from today's notes on MMO-Champ. No idea why tbh.

Don´t always trust datamined stuff to be 100% true. It also says that lifeblood´s cd is going to be increased from 20 sec to 2 mins. It already is 2 mins live.

I'm doing better dps on boss fights as demo than as afflic so I feel like afflic does need a buff. Frankly I just refuse to place destro with that silly Imp Soul Fire talent in it so I can't really say how it compares to that.

Not really Warlock stuff so it's not going at the start but interesting all the same.
All trade goods available for purchase with Honor or Justice Points from the associated commodities vendors have had their prices reduced by 50%.
Maelstrom Crystals are now available for purchase with Honor or Justice Points from the associated commodities vendors.
Loot from the creatures Garr,
Julak-Doom
, Mobus, and Poseidus has been adjusted to be commensurate to their rarity and invested effort.
Good news about the trade goods I think, and certainly good news about Mr. Doom. Makes it easier to convince people to come raid him with you.

there's the nerf we've all expected for affliction:
Glyphs
* Glyph of Soul Swap now gives Soul Swap a 15 sec cooldown, up from 10 sec.
