Do you like the revamped hunter class? What's your general "feeling" about hunters, after some beta testing? Will you be leveling 80→85 your hunter... or will you switch to something else and go back to 1→85 leveling stuff?
I will share my opinions later. Right now I'd like to hear some opinions/feelings from those who (like me) managed to access the beta.
On a side note, WoW 3D engine is really showing it's age, even with Cataclysm. It's true that only Blizzard can mass-sell a videogame in 2011 with such a poor and basic 3D engine.

About that side note.. I would say that the engine is remarkably solid, and very flexible when it comes to pushing it even further.. I think that more than "flexible" it's just "flat-basic". Blizzard abuses the "recycling" method: they re-use the same models AND animations over and over and over and over. I agree on the cartoonish aspect.

Game engine = remarkably adaptable considering its age (how many other games can you name that have used the same engine, barring Steam, for 5 years and have not only expanded its capabilities but have made it look better and run nicer?)
Hunters = zomgyes. I can't wait. I love the idea of focus, I love the idea of pets giving raid buffs that actually matter, I love the idea of Trap Launcher (finally), and yes, I love the idea of Camouflage too. I like where the talent trees have gone so far, and I feel that after Cata finally hits, we'll all be impressed with at least one aspect or another. I'm simply happy that our class was one of the ones to get an overhaul, and that no matter what anyone says, it will definitely be a new experience to level my hunter to 85 in Cata.

I'm confident that it will be a struggle with focus when we first hit level 85. However, im also very confident that things will improve with more gear. Lot's of mechanics are designed to give you a % chance to return focus, so naturally, the more you hit the target or crit on the target, the more these mechanisms will come into play

Please guys, I asked for a feedback from "
beta testers
". Everyone is able to watch some streams on Youtube, I know that. I'd like comments from those who are actually
testing
the new stuff on the beta.
Concerning the hunter class, this is what
I like
+ more utility/versatility for pets (talents, spells)
+ revamped pets (more slots, easier swap)
+ no ammo (I don't like the concept but I understand it's better this way)
+ scatter shot free for every spec
+ BM spec looks better than live (utility, fun and dps)
+ leveling a new hunter is much much much better and fun than live
And this is what I
don't like
(so far)
- focus (I feel like a ranged-rogue, very very different from mana stuff)
- scatter shot (5 yards minimum range, totally useless to save your /\ss)
- multishot (it's not an AoE, needs a target, needs a perfect los)
- 31 points talent trees (being a MM for 4 years I feel very very gimped now)
- MM talent tree not optimized for raiding (lots of points go wasted in crappy stuff)

The talent trees are just awful - so little wiggle room in trying to make builds that suit you best.
Aren't the talent trees like that now? There's your standard build for both MM and SV that if you deviate from the "cookie cutter" spec, then you're considered a noob.
I'm glad to hear that leveling isn't so painful and is actually better, not that it was hard in the first place. My first hunter took around 3.5 days /played to get to 80 and now I'm definitely looking forward to making a new worgen hunter.

I re-rolled a new Worgen hunter too, for obvious reasons (new stuff, lore, etc). The new mechanics are very nice (pet and ranged weapon from level 1), the starting zone is nice too (very Gothic-like). Well, half of the Worgen players are hunters or druids ;-). Note: druids in cat/bear form do NOT switch to worgen form in combat.
Considering the insane amount of Heirlooms coming with Cata, it will be very easy to level a new toon (getting a maximum of +40% xp = cool).

Whoa, there are NEW 80 heirloom items that bring you up to 40% exp? Or are you talking about the 85 heirloom items and/or archaeology items?

I already gave you my opinion. At this point it's basically irredeemable unless you're a !@#$ing BMtard.

Guild rewards, yes. Check
worldofraids.com
post for more details (back + helm).
@Rilgon: my comment was not addressed to you ofc.

Of course they gonna reclycle. Every compagny with a brain would do the same. Developping 3D model, animation, texture, etc cost time and money (like you have no idea if you didnt dip in that domain). So of course they wont create something just to use it once.
@FaaR: I doubt Blizzard would nerf hunter for leveling fast. Hunter (and Afflock in 2nd) are already at top of leveling speed. I think the record atm is less than 3 days /played to reach 80 (without hearloom/RAF).

Sure. But let me say that between "once" and "endlessly" there is a vast ocean of possibilities. Imho WoW is very very repetitive in terms of models.
