1. What level is your shaman?
80.
2. What spec is your shaman?
Resto. Enhance, OS.
3. Why did you pick your spec?
Decided to give healing a chance, since my other alts were DPS and tanks.
4. Was your shaman your first character? If not, what was?
No, Hunter.
5. What compelled you to make a shaman?
Totems, and just having such a large toolbox to deal with whatever is thrown at me.
6. What is your favorite shaman spell?
Chain Lightning or Chain Heal, for whatever reason, I love anything that affects multiple targets but isn't normal, boring AoE.
7. Are you excited for the shaman cata changes?
Very much so. Can't wait to see Healing Rain (even after dissing "boring AoE", ha).
8. What spec did you level with?
Enhancement, didn't go Resto or ever heal an instance until 80.
9. Do you feel satisfied with the shaman playstyle?
Yes, but Enhancement was a little twitchy, in that there are more buttons and procs to watch for compared to my other DPS characters (Mage, Hunter, Paladin). And as Restoration, there is a good deal of versatility, we aren't completely confined to a healing niche as I have seen (and have personally) tank-healed raids.
10. Do you think shamans are overpowered, underpowered, or just right?
Just right? Don't really feel strongly either way, but regardless, they're a lot of fun, no matter which spec I play.

1. What level is your shaman?
80
2. What spec is your shaman?
Enhancement/Resto
3. Why did you pick your spec?
I leveled as Enhancement in TBC and remembered how much fun it was right around when ToC came out. Resto's my off spec for quick/easy heroics.
4. Was your shaman your first character? If not, what was?
Yep
5. What compelled you to make a shaman?
I thought it looked really cool, and among the classes that Tauren can take, it excited me the most.
6. What is your favorite shaman spell?
Ghost Wolf. I love shouting at the top of my lungs on trash that I pull aggro on "You can't kill meh! I gots my puppies!"
7. Are you excited for the shaman cata changes?
Is fear that my spec is gonna get wrecked excitement? Ele and Resto look awesome, but I'm not sold on the Enhance changes
8. What spec did you level with?
1-70: Enhance, 70-80: Mostly Ele because that's the spec I raided with in TBC.
9. Do you feel satisfied with the shaman playstyle?
Love it. There's enough variety to keep things interesting without making things so complicated that you have to be on a high-end system to perform at high-end levels.
10. Do you think shamans are overpowered, underpowered, or just right?
Slightly underpowered as a dps class because we don't scale as well. Just right as a healer.

1. What level is your shaman?
Which one? My first shaman was a Troll I rolled to play around with some friends, but we never did much, and he got to 18 or so. I later rolled a Draenei to be on the same server as these friends, and he became my main, and one of two 80s I have (the other being a human prot warrior). I also rolled a Tauren shaman I only got to 10, and I plan on rolling a Goblin shammy and possibly also a Dwarf. I like shamans.
2. What spec is your shaman?
Resto and Enh. Both of the non-80 shamans I've rolled dabbled in Ele.
3. Why did you pick your spec?
When I first rolled a shaman, it was to be the healer for the group that my friends were talking about playing. So resto was my first exposure to shamans, and it's always been a healing style I've really enjoyed. I love the feel of all of the healing spells, I love the distinctness of Earth Shield, and I love all the procs involved. For some reason, I think it was Ancestral Awakening that really sold me on the spec; something about the effect and the flavor of it, it just felt right.
As for Enh, I chose that for leveling, largely because I was enticed by the promise of Windfury Weapon being awesome, which it was. As for why I stuck with it, I think it was a bit of a revelation. My previous main was a frost mage, and the playstyle was miles apart. For one, I felt so much stronger and durable than I had as a mage; even though Enh's actually a fairly squishy spec in the long run, there was something so great about being able to take on multiple mobs and heal off the damage.
And I loved the progression of leveling and getting new skills. Coming from a mage, I was used to a fairly boring "rotation," which consisted pretty much exclusively of Frostbolt spam. My mage was in the 60s when I started playing my shaman, and with the exception of a couple cooldowns and a few procs, she played pretty much identically to how she had when she first trained Frostbolt. An Enh shaman, however, was a constantly evolving playstyle. You started, and you were essentially an Ele shaman who smacked things. When you got Water Shield at 20, you suddenly had an infinite mana supply, and downtime became nil. At 30, you got Windfury, and your smacking started to matter. At 40, you picked up Dual Wield and then Stormstrike, and you could start doing most of your damage as melee; Lava Lash would come soon after. At 50, you got Shamanistic Rage, which radically changed your mana needs, and at 55 you could start investing in Maelstrom Weapons, which did incredible things for integrating both your heals and your lightning spells into your rotation. And finally, you got pretty much the greatest 51-pointer in the whole game in the form of Feral Spirits, which turned you into a one-man killing machine. You could take on the world before, but once you got your puppies, damn near everything was soloable. It was a fantastic feeling, and leveling Enh is still one of the greatest experiences I've had in WoW.
4. Was your shaman your first character? If not, what was?
My very, very first character was a Tauren druid, who I rolled on a trial account I set up and played for maybe one afternoon before losing interest. A year or so later, a friend who was playing convinced me and some other friends to join. The plan was for us to all play together as a group of Trolls, but a couple of us started early, and we rolled what were meant to be temporary characters. I started an Undead mage, and until I switched to my Draenei shaman, she was my main. There were a couple other toons that occupied my time between those two, including a second Tauren druid, but those were the majors ones.
5. What compelled you to make a shaman?
Promises of the glory of Windfury.
6. What is your favorite shaman spell?
So many options. I'd probably chose a utility spell though. Astral Recall rocks hard, I absolutely adore Ghost Wolf (I don't care if it's a DPS loss, I'm speccing into Improved Ghost Wolf, consequences be damned), and I always miss Water Walking on other toons.
7. Are you excited for the shaman cata changes?
On the whole, I wouldn't mind Blizzard doing a bit more with shamans, but on the whole I'm pretty happy with where we are. I'd really like to see a little bit more editing of the trees, give us less necessary talents, let us go in for some nice utility. The trees seem solid now, but fairly cookie cutter.
As great as Ancestral Swiftness is, I do think it's a little unbalancing, as it pretty much ensures every Ele and Resto shaman has to put at least 7 points into Enh. I personally wouldn't mind seeing all these run-speed talents just get the axe and Ghost Wolf just be given instant cast as baseline. If Blizzard isn't willing to do that, I'd at least like to see Ancestral Swiftness move down to the first tier. 1) It would potentially give sub-specs more options, they could just dump 2 points into Enh and go wherever they want with the rest. And 2) it would make it more accessible for leveling. One of the great things while leveling now is you can get talent into Improved Ghost Wolf early enough that it can be instant cast the moment you train it. Under the current scheme, you can't do that till level 21 or 22 (depending on how points are distributed), which is kinda lame.
I'd also really like to see Elemental Precision come into line with Balance of Power. It seems pretty lame that shamans have to spend 3 points to get 3% hit, while Druids spend 2 to get 4%. It's a minor quibble, but it'd make me very happy.
8. What spec did you level with?
Enh. Got my Resto secondary spec in Northrend.
9. Do you feel satisfied with the shaman playstyle?
Absolutely. Love it.
10. Do you think shamans are overpowered, underpowered, or just right?
I feel pretty satisfied with where you are. Are we the absolute power-house godkings of WoW? No. But I feel more than capable of doing very well as a healer, and whenever I DPS, I'd say I'm consistently pretty high on the charts. I might not be able to beat pure DPS classes who're on their A-game, but I tend to be at least the best hybrid DPS in most raids I'm in.

1. What level is your shaman?
80
2. What spec is your shaman?
PvE Enhancement/PvE Resto
3. Why did you pick your specs?
I picked Enhancement because I had a ton of offspec gear for it, and was tired of dealing with Elemental or healing. I stayed offspec Resto for my guild.
4. Was your shaman your first character? If not, what was?
No, it was a Tauren Hunter
5. What compelled you to make a shaman?
I moved realms, and couldn't decide what to try. I came from Alliance, so I never really played a Shaman, except for a low level Draenei Shaman I never got attached to, so I figured I'd give it another go.
6. What is your favorite shaman spell?
Although Thunderstorm for Elemental is really fun, I'm a huge fan of Feral Spirit in the Enhancement tree. The ability to summon 2 wolf spirits to aid you has always fascinated me, after seeing Thrall do it in Tales of the Past 3.
7. Are you excited for the shaman cata changes?
Yes, I think there are some great changes in store in Cataclysm. Lets face it, Healing Rain is much needed, Chain Heal is nice, but it can only help so much, we've needed another AoE to help top things off. Ghost Wolf indoors is helpful in all situations, including raids, where movement may have hindered our ability to dps.
8. What spec did you level with?
Enhancement until 75, than Elemental.
9. Do you feel satisfied with the shaman playstyle?
I love playing my Enhancement Shaman. There are so many places in your rotation you can screw up, and it really requires concentration. Elemental was boring for me, and Resto never really appealed to me either, but I'm like that with all healers.
10. Do you think shamans are overpowered, underpowered, or just right?
From a PvE standpoint, I think we're just fine. A well geared and educated Shaman can do comparable dps to pure classes. Enhancement needs some buffs when it comes to movement, because, even as Blizzard admitted, Enhancement has terrible issues on movement fights. In PvP, however, we need help. I gave up on PvP. Enhancement needs more burst, while both Enhance and Elemental needs more Crowd Control, though Frozen Power and Storm, Earth, and Fire did help us out a little. Hex needs work though. >.<

1. What level is your shaman?
80 :3
2. What spec is your shaman?
Resto main, elemental off.
3. Why did you pick your spec?
I've been a rogue since the start of wow. Never really tried anything else. Healing and casting were new wonderful experiences.
4. Was your shaman your first character? If not, what was?
My Muty Rogue :3
5. What compelled you to make a shaman?
I always wanted to make either a druid or a shaman. When i first logged into wow, i was going to be alliance for the night elves and really wanted a druid but for some reason that i've forgotten, i went with a rogue and just kept going. During TBC, i heard about draenai and that shamans were not available to alliance. So i experimented with both and me and the shaman class took off <3.
6. What is your favorite shaman spell?
Riptide, the totems and especially earth shield.
7. Are you excited for the shaman cata changes?
oh yes very much <3
8. What spec did you level with?
elemental.
9. Do you feel satisfied with the shaman playstyle?
Its very fulfilling and varied.
10. Do you think shamans are overpowered, underpowered, or just right?
For resto, its just right. Enhancement could use a bit more work in terms of its cycle and elemental could be tweaked just a tiny bit. But they're generally great all around.
They're fantastic for their utility and what they bring to the group. As Heavy weapons guy would say..."SHAMAN IS CREDIT TO TEAM!"
