Ele and Enh needed a lot of work even before they went from 51 to 31 trees.

I'm not one of those freaking out about the change to talent trees (I've actually been excited about it), but my main concern regards Enhancement. Currently
Elemental Fury
is a
must-have
for Enhancement, but will soon turn into a passive specialization for the Elemental Combat tree in Cataclysm. Anyone got any ideas on how hard that will affect Enhancement shammies?

Enhancement will also be able to use Lava Burst for Maelstrom Weapon, so I wouldn't worry too much.

did I read it correctly when they said you had to stay in 1 tree until 70?

A whole lot of negativity here I see. I'm pretty optimistic about this whole talent overhaul undertaking, and I think these trees show a lot of promise.
I think Blizzard is still trying to find the right balance between bloated trees and slimmed down trees. Enh seems to be potentially to lean: it's pretty simple to get everything you'd want in the Enh tree without having to sacrifice much of anything. The Warrior's Protection tree looks to have the same problem. The way Blizzard has described their design intent, they want us to be making more choices, and potentially not taking certain talents not because we don't want to or because they're bad, but because we simply don't have the points for them. I don't think that's a situation the Enh tree is in yet, and I expect Blizzard will do some tweaking to get to that point.
I think currently the place where I'm seeing the most variance is in the decisions for sub-specs. There's more I want in the Ele tree than I can get. And although the power of an Enh sub-spec for Resto should remain the go-to choice for raiding, I can definitely see how an Ele sub-spec could work well for a Resto who wants to quest or do dungeons they outgear. Elemental Precision so high in the Ele tree definitely opens up some possibilities for Resto to do respectable damage when they do need to be healing much.
My biggest complaint, and this is purely from a leveling stand-point, is that Ancestral Swiftness (I love the new green icon, incidentally) is too low in the tree. Ghost Wolf is already in a so-so place now that we can get our first mount at 20, giving us only a few levels to really get the most out of it. But with the current iteration of the talent trees, and assuming that we are getting a talent point every two levels, the soonest leveling Enh shamans can enjoy their instant Ghost Wolf is level 22. Personally, I would love to see Elemental Weapons and Ancestral Swiftness change places in the tree. I don't think that would screw over many talent builds (most of the builds I've been playing with got both those talents anyway), and it would give lowbie Enh shamans the ability to have Ghost Wolf already insta-cast when they first learn it.

@Zeljkosh,
Healing classes will never get an MS
The talent tree's aren't done yet, the 'locks, too, haven't got a finished tree yet. I'm sure they'll be some tweaking.

I've already got my Restoration spec as far as the tree goes right now, but I am anxious to see what exactly I am losing and gaining as far as passive abilities go and masteries.
Overall, it seems they didn't take out really much of anything (and even added a few things) if they converted the rest of passives or baseline abilities ... and I look forward to the changes!
