They should probably install microchips at birth with the ability to incapacitate you on-command as well -- that will reduce the chances you'll hurt anyone once the mass surveillance system identifies you as a threat.
. . .
I agree with G3 -- you should read 1984 if you haven't, it is quite good. (doubleplus good)

Mass Surveillance is the system in which a government has view of all or most of the land and propertie inside a country it allows the Police in said country to know exactly who commited a crime when he commited said crime and where they commited said crime,
People say such system goes against the constitution for privacy and can lead to fear and a totaltarian state from fear.
I believe it should be implemented as it could save lives from terrorism and allow police to prevent murders and save billions from lenghty police investigations and long trials.
Of course that is just the view point of a far right wing extreamist and I would like to hear your opinions on the matter.
Notably I believe it is being used in Britain today.
If you want to give up freedom for security, then you probably don't deserve either... didn't Benjamin Franklin say that?

This thread proves that communists aren't the only ones who like police states.

What business do other people have in my business?
The government isn't some sort of holy god. It's made of of people who are capable of as much as I am.

Well, it's too late now, isn't it?
Laihendi already brought it up for you. It seems like you just want to bring it up to appear educated and sophisticated, whereas Laihendi brought it up because he
is
educated and sophisticated.

Ok but just imagine this scenario:
A child is walking around an empty street late at night, out of no where a masked Man grabs the child and throws him into his Van with its registration pulled off and drives away,
he procceads to drive off for ten miles and the child is found death 10 days later.
In a world without mass surveillance this would be the case,
In a world with mass surveillance the van is seen traveling in a number of diffrent camera's across the town, the parants inform the police the child is missing they watch surveillance footage of the child walking out of his house down the road into the street,
they then watch as the Van travels across the town towards the mans house,
The police enter the house arrest the man and save the child.
Now I dont propse we have Police watching live screens 24/7 for crimes, that is irrational, but the information is instead stored and accessed when the police investigate a crime scene.
Okay, cameras watching public areas is one thing, but from your opening post you made it seem like they would be
everywhere

Similar rationale was used to wiretap phones for the last 8 years. I'm not sure how many lives have been saved by this, but there have been plenty of phone sex conversations between married military couples, recorded and passed around between friends through wiretap, among other abuses.
The system is only as good as its operators, and as HsR said -- we don't have any perfect beings to run the system.

We have traffic cams already. What more are you proposing?
