I got this email and I am pretty sure it is a scam but I just want to make sure because if it is real then it means my account has been hacked and someone is doing something with it they are not supposed to be doing. I canceled my account a month ago so there should be nothing going on to warrant a suspension. Here is the email I received:
Greetings
World of Warcraft -> Legal -> End User License Agreement
and Section 8 of the Terms of Use:
Blizzard Entertainment -> Legal -> Terms of Use
A 3-hour probationary suspension is pending on this account, awaiting confirmation from a specialist. A final warning has been issued. The investigation will be continued by the Account Administration team to determine the any further suspensions. If the account in question is found in violation of the EULA and Terms of Use, further action will be taken. Be aware that any additional inappropriate actions may result in the permanent closure of the account.
Thank you for respecting our position on this matter.

** We request that you verify your legitimate ownership of the account here:
Blizzard staff will verify your account information submitted in two days, please do not modify your account information during this time . It will not affect your game uptime. If you are unable to successfully verify your password . using the automated system, please contact Billing & Account Services at 1-800-59-BLIZZARD (1-800-592-5499) Mon-Fri, 8am-8pm Pacific Time or at billing@blizzard.com. Is the root URL of the link worldofwarcraft.com, battle.net, or blizzard.com? If not, then it's safe to assume it's a scam.
Regardless, you should
never
click on a link in an e-mail*; instead, you should go to the main web site and attempt to find the supposed information there.
PLEASE do not post the actual links in your post. While they would be silly to do so, you're exposing others who read this post to the possibility of getting a keylogger by mistakenly clicking the link. Edit your post to remove the link!
*Again, there are times when you may have to click a link in an e-mail to verify your e-mail address; in those instances, you will be expecting the e-mail anyway and will know that it's safe.

Sorry about leaving the link in there...I did not even think about that. I guess it was removed by a mod so thanks.
I just wanted to make sure. I get scam mails all the time but they are obvious and this one looked a tiny bit real so I was concerned. The reason being is that I canceled my account for the summer about a month ago so if my account was being suspended for violation of terms that would mean my account had been hacked. I didn't think that was likely because I have a safe computer that I am careful were I go on the net with (not that it still can't get something nasty) and I use an authenticator. But I have been hacked before so it has me a little jumpy. Anyways, thanks for the responses.

With stuff like that, it is good to remember that Blizzard shoots first and ask questions second. If you are able to log to the game, you are fine and this is scam.

It's a scam... they don't need you to verify information if they want to take an action against your account...
Those messages have been filling up my junk folder for the past month.
Also, notice how it tells you to login to that site but not change your information at all afterwards. :p
Let's just take your word for it.
Errr, why? You're afraid you'll get hacked just by reading a cut n' paste of a phishing mail?
I know it sometimes pays to be paranoid, but damn!
