I'm not trying to change your beliefs. I simply do not understand how someone can blindly believe something with no evidence to back it up.
I do have evidence. Most people won't take it as evidence however because it is spiritual evidence.
Yay for personal stories that will be destroyed =D
OK, so I have severe Asthma. As in, so severe I have to get 2 shots that cost $1,000 each, once a month.
So I get RSV at age 7 (Nobody could believe it. The doctor's were going psycho, exclaiming how that was possible). I get put in the hospital with a SAT of 82 (A good sat is 93 or so+. If it drops below 90 than you
need
to get help, fast. Mine was 82. I was put in ICU with a very slim chance of surviving. My vitals were dropping like a stone.
My entire family (mine and extended) were praying and fasting for me. My name had been submitted to the Salt Lake Temple to be prayed for healing. My dad and his partner (For home teaching) came to my room. My sat had hit 80 and was in danger of dropping again. They gave me a priesthood prayer of healing while I slept, so I had no idea that they were doing it until I woke partway during the prayer. My vitals started rising about 5 minutes after the prayer.
Two days later I was released to go home, fully recovered (although my asthma was still slightly bad the sickness was gone.)
This is one example of evidence I have. I have others as well.

1. Medical treatment wasn't working, and it hadn't been for five days. I wasn't taking anything at that time. I was only on oxygen because the meds had no effect.
2. No. We believe in seeking the help of God, and also the latest in medical science.
3. Why what? Is it for the two questions above or just my whole story?

Why is God allowed to commit murder?
I can never get a satisfactory answer to that question.
Things are quiet, so let's have a sing-a-long :)
Again, I can only quote the bible I read:
"The Lord has given, and the Lord can take it away."
I suppose that by giving us the gift of life, that means that we must (to some extent) follow the plan He has laid out for us, meaning our time of death.

See, that's what I mean. I can see that being evidence to you. I personally wouldn't have taken it as evidence of a higher power (just because it cannot be explained doesn't mean it's God, in my opinion), but I can see how one who has different standards than I do seing it that way.
My problem is with people who blindly believe without any lifechanging story or anything; people who truly beleive something despite there being no logical reason for them to.
My one contention with the sotry is the fact that there are a whole lot of other people out there with people praying for them who do die, but I don't expect you to account for that.

I honestly can't. I suppose that if God believes their time is over or something. /shrug. I don''t know.
My problem is with people who blindly believe without any lifechanging story or anything;
Do you believe the story is life changing?

Well, I knew that =P
I was wondering if in your view that story would constitute life changing. I know some people that believe there are no life changing experiences.

That changed his life. As a matter of fact, his survival was a large part of what made me believe in Christ for so long.
And yeah, I might say your story is life changing, but it's really up to you. Did it change your life?
Here's my story, if you're interested.

Did it change your life?
Yes.
I swear, he was the most intelligent cat I have ever known. I remember multiple times when I was sick that he would come and lay by my side. I don't know if he sensed that something was wrong with me or if it was mere coincidence, but I loved that cat with all my heart, and I am quite certain that he loved me as much as any cat can.
Sounds exactly like my miniature schnauzer Impy. I think animals just have a deeper sensitivity to humans than other humans do.
And for the rest I disagree wholly. But I understand where you are coming from and I respect that.

Why do you believe it, if you can't prove it?
People believe many things. Can you prove your car will turn on? Can you prove you will live through the night?
No. But you believe you will. I have observed my dads car turn on more often then I have observed it to not turn on. I can use science to show that my car will turn on if I turn the ignition key. Obviously, I have yet to not live through the night. I can't 'prove' anything, that doesn't stop me from picking the most reasonable answer and sticking to it.
Why is God allowed to commit murder?
I can never get a satisfactory answer to that question.
My only answer is that God isn't constrained by the same commandments he gives his followers.
/shrug I don't know honestly, that's just my opinion.
Whether or not he is, he has defined what is moral and done something that is immoral. He is immoral.

Who says it is murder? Does God come down with a knife and stab somebody in their sleep?

Nope, there's no knife involved. He comes down and slaughters children in their sleep. Actually, he's killed quite a bit of his 'chosen' as well, simply for complaining.

I don't set much stock on the Bible remember?
I honestly don't think he would do that. Either it is over-exaggeration or blatant corruption.

Considering that every single teaching you have comes from either bible or bible commentaries, I think this seems to be biased. "The bible is only truthful when it says what I want to hear." You know who, by teaching of Christianity and Judaism, wrote the bible? Moses, or Moshe. Are you going to call God's Prophet corrupt?

The Bible version yes. That is why we have the Book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price.
And I don't think I've made any Bible posts...

No. Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price.
Bible sometimes. Usually Joseph Smith Translation of it.

So he wrote himself and God as corrupt characters for the purpose of telling everyone else to follow in their footsteps as moral people?

No. The as-then Church removed parts they didn't like until most of the truth was removed.

Can we have some historical evidence, please? Or at least some logical proof (ex. why they would remove certain things, and add others.) Or is it simply faith that God is good?
