If you have two daggers. Go Assassination, using two Daggers for Combat is the worst thing you can do.
Hell, it's even worse then going Sub for PvE.
That was not my question, actually. I know I should put a weapon with as high damage (
not
DPS) in my main hand.
However for my offhand, I obviously want a fast weapon. But a while ago I read about normalization and how some weapons were treated with a fixed speed for certain special attacks. Now if daggers would be (for example) normalized to 1.7 speed and proccing of deadly poison and combat potency adjusted accordingly, there would be no use to use a dagger faster than 1.7, basically (especially if swords were not normalized, for example... a 1.5 or 1.6 sword would then be better than a 1.3 or 1.4 dagger). I hope you understand my question better now.
I'm sure this is explained already elsewhere, but I was unable to find it.

So basically every query you have can be answered by "spreadsheet".

Spreadsheet doesn't answer whether daggers are normalized for deadly poison and combat potency. My questions are more out of interest and understanding the class rather than "lolz wich wep shud i use

Instant and Wound are Normalized. Deadly is not.
And yes, a spreadsheet will indirectly answer your question since your DPS will change accordingly.

Sorry, but no, it will not. My question is not "will my DPS be higher or lower", my question was specifically about the normalization. And spreadsheet will not say "dear sir please change your weapon because this one is normalized at a terrible speed". I don't want to just see a number change (DPS) and think "ok whatever my DPS is better so that's that", I want to understand why. :) But I mentioned that already.

If you have an iLvl 264 1.4 OH and you swap it with a 264 1.8 OH and your DPS plummets, you now know that Deadly isn't normalized. Ta-da!

Rupture is only worth using on tank and spank fights, so if you were to pick one build to last a whole ICC run, you would choose an Evis build.

Just wanting to try this out.
Right now I don't have any daggers worth a crap.
A couple of Krick's Beetle Stabbers and a letter opener are these ok to start?
couple of ice razors a good thing to get first?

whats you MH? because if you have read the stickys you would be aware that neither of those weapons make suitable mainhands

So basically the only people who deserve to know this are the spreadsheet authors?
Right now, I've used Rawr 2.x (waiting for 3 to come out of beta) and looked at two different combat spreadsheets, and they all give me conflicting advice. If the only answer you'll get when learning how to optimize your rogue DPS is "spreadsheet", then please also answer "fine, but which one".

Need a little lesson here; maybe it will help me understand my class better.
Here is my armory
Using the latest spreadsheet and entered everything in. It comes back with a recommendation of Low Rupture. Fine, I understand what that is. What I want to know, though, is *why* it recommends that. I don't have any points in Blood Spatter and I don't have the T9 bonus.
Again, I am not arguing with the spreadsheet, I am just curious why it came up with this recommendation.
Edit: This new CAPTCHA is completely retarded (as if any of them aren't). I might have to pay just for the piece of mind!

Nowhere in any of the stickies or posts is RAWR ever suggested for optimizing rogue dps. There is a reason for that.
And since we're on the rogue boards, the reason is nobody's business but yours. That's okay, I read the guide, unlike the responses here it's been quite useful.

Rupture > eviscerate, because rupture can now always crit scalling with your special attack crit chance.
Rupture is even worth using in tank&spank fights without having the talents/glyphs for it.

Rawr sucks for rogues.
Seriously.
