I think we definitely need a tune-up on several of the minions which we already have. When was the last time you did a Ritual of Doom? (for a Doomguard) And, though he's actually useful now, I'd like to see the Infernal get a little love, too.

doomguard was the best affliction pet and got used on cooldown, every cvooldown. this meant that the felhunter never saw the light of day.
my point is that the problem isn't that we don't have enough useful pets or that our pets aren't useful enough, the problem is that there aren't enough separate niches for which the different pets can be suited.

Then why play a warlock, Zephyrith?
If you like the nature of DoTs, roll a shadow priest. If you like high-powered destructive spellcasting, roll an arcane or fire mage.

I must say that I use them in every BG that I join. I start the BG with a Doomguard as my minion. He have an AoE stun, a dispel spell and one of the best slow effects in the game.
I also use my Inferno when my minion is killed. The summoning spell does a good damage and a 2 sec stun. The minion itself hits fairly hard, have a permanent aura of fire damage that drags stealth out of hiding, and is immune to fire spells. He will only last for 60 seconds anyway, so if I made them took the time to kill him, I've successfully wasted their time. My mana will come up again and the reagent is cheap and can be rebuyed
Both of them cost a cheap reagent and, most important, they are big. It's hard to ignore a fifteen feet tall monster made of rocks burning in a green fire, smashing your skull and obstructing your view.

I use my Doomguard very often, thank you very much. And the infernal is great to drop on 50 people turtling in AV.
Along with what Barkend said, it's hard to ignore something in a battleground with 45-50k health running at you, coupled with the fact that you're crippled/weakened and can't get away.

Aye. I've popped out my DG a few times in battlegrounds. But honestly? They are big attention-getters, and get hosed down pretty quickly. The argument could be made that this distracts players from killing other players on your side, I suppose.
The Infernal? I use him MUCH more often. Something goes wrong? A bunch of mobs are making a break for the Healer? Or, while fighting XT-002, a bunch of trash mobs are making a beeline for the group, and I don't think the off-tank can make it in time? I drop an Infernal. BLAM... situation changed. I love him. One guildie who sees him as pointless doesn't seem to get that he's actually very, very useful, even if he's very, very temporary.
