200MB limit question...

I decided to go back to wow, since the game I have been playing has been made impossible due to my ISP. Anyway, my ISP limits me to 200MB downloaded a day, and unlimited 11pm -4 am.
My question is:
About how long can I play wow continuously before I use all 200MB?

As far as I'm aware you can (technically speaking, far from recommended) play wow with a 56.6kbps modem. If you manage to download 200 mb a day with that connection I would congratulate you.
I dont know the real data, but I would say 200 mb a day wouldnt be a problem. Personally I would ditch that ISP directly myself though.

It is either this or dial up. From what I hear, the latency on dial up is much much better than satallite internet. Maybe I should ditch hughsnet and just get netzero...
I thought dial up was extinct.

Yes, I was in your same spot for a while. Sat internet is horrible for WoW, but nice to have for patch days.
You can get really good pings with good dial-up, somewhere <200 is common. BUT, you are limited to 5 man groups, or solo questing. On occasion I could run 10 mans, but would have some problems, mostly if AoE went crazy.
A 3rd option is cellular internet. It is what I have now, and is great. pings are 100ms or so, and I can easily run 25s with no issues. The drawback is they also have usage limits if you didnt have a plan before the Alltel / Verizon merger (luckily I did, so Im unlimited). According to some websites, you can play WoW for 8-10 hrs a day and stay under their 5gb monthly cap, but using it for other stuff, like movie or music downloads ect, will eat that cap up pretty quick.
Just to give you an idea, I average 50-60gb a month, but I have a teenager with a YouTube / iTunes addiction!
Best of luck to ya.

Thanks. No cell phone reception out here, so It's either outer space or retro dial up.

Are you in a true "dead zone" or just poor reception? My area has very poor cell service, but its not truely dead. I have a 6' omni-directional antenna on the roof, with a yagi (directional) booster attached to it. This feeds a 30db amplifier that rebroadcasts the signal through my house.
While pricey (prob have close to $1000 in my full antenna / router setup) it does work great. With the antenna's and boosters that are out there, if there is any signal at all, you can get it to work, but if your area is completly void of cell service, dial up is probably the way to go.

The real issues you will face are the Patch downloads. the last one was 1.2 gigs.
Just a reminder.

yeah, for example damage meters tend to use a lot of extra bandwidth because they send data to each other
