Some most common reasons are as follows:
Not shutting down the computer properly.
Extremely fragmented drive,
Run Defrag.
Failing Hard-drive,
Run Check Disk.
Loose / Damaged data-cables attached to the hard-drives.
Possible Virus.
Possible Memory Failure.
Many other things can cause file corruption, but those are the most common.
Perform the following tasks:
Run a Check Disk Process.
Run a Disk Cleanup Process.
Delete/Uninstall any unnecessary programs, files, mp3s, videos, games, etc.
Run a Disk Defrag Process.
Run a Virus-scan process.
If you still experience issues of corrupt files
, invest in a new Hard Drive first. If it goes past that point, i would suggest purchasing a new computer. The cost of troubleshooting and replacing other parts will get high, will be cheaper to buy new.
Does your computer make noises, such as: Squealing, Clicking, Wining, etc. Especially clicking or metallic grinding noises. If it makes any of those noises, Immediately turn off the computer and replace the hard-drive.
