i´ve never tried a class that could heal, so im thinking about rolling one. i want to use a dps specc for questing, dpsing and just heal while not being in the right specc in instances.
tanking i dont wanna do, i already have a dk and a warrior that i tank with. so thats not an issue when i decide what class i wanna roll.
So, out of feral cat, balance druid, enh shaman, ele shaman, ret paladin and shadow priest, what is the most noob friendly and effective healer during instances all the way from ragefire chasm to sholomance, maybe even in tbc and northrend normals?
When it comes to healing, my mind is like a blank sheet, so im really looking forward to trying it out. Any of those classes seems fun to try, but it would be bad if i say levelled one to 30 something, and found out the class was hard to heal with and forced me into a healing specc whenever i wanted to do a instance.
im also thinking about starting that toon on another server, so i wont be able to afford dual specc either.

Pre-40, it doesn't really matter what spec you are - you get more from gear and by getting new ranks of spells. Post-40, you can get dual-spec, so again off-spec healing isn't necessary.
Even at low levels, I'd start to learn a healing addon now (e.g. healbot, grid+clique, vuhdo) so you're used to it when you hit 80. It streamlines the healing process and frees action bar space, making things much easier.
That said, a ret pally has some very nice healing talents, especially with the ability to get a ton of mana back by judging.
Boomkins also have great synergy with Healing Touch - which is your primary direct heal before you hit level 80. Ferals get some from agility, but their bonuses aren't really that great.
Spriests can heal with their damage if there isn't much damage taken (often happens with a good tank in low levels) and can still pop out of shadow form if needed.
My friend's ele sham averages 250-300 DPS at level 38 while at the same time healing me and never going OOM (I don't know how he does it).
Really, all 4 are good.

Spriests are great until Northrend.
I have a lv 52 moonkin/feral atm.
250+ spelpower at that level makes it so that combined with a geared tank I can simply stay moonkinform, trow a hurracane, after the fight I shift out and trow up 2 hots.
I keep my mana up with innervate partly, but using 2x BoA spelpowertrinkets give me 4% mana everytime I do a killingblow, so when I f.ex. aoe the worms in Maraudon I go in with 50% and leave with 100%.
Actualy, as long as you have the gear for it I wouldn't worry before outlands. The best healer I had on my back then protwarrior was a retripaladin in intelectgear.

A priest is probably the best option. Reason why is that while shadow is good for DPS, it's not so good for leveling, at least until 40 or 50. Before then, it's best to go with a Smite spec. I've used this kind of spec and it works wonders. You can solo, do DPS in instances, and heal in instances with this kind of spec.
Right now I'm leveling a Smite priest and a druid. The druid is a bit different, because she's feral specced but I have two sets of gear - one for DPS, and one for healing. It's pretty different healing as a druid than a priest, since you have very few direct heals (at least at early levels), you have to anticipate damage a little more. And I go out of mana more often.
Basically, you can heal instances until Outland in any spec, and the same goes with tanking, you just have to have the right gear. Of course, the correct healing spec is always going to be easier.
