This reminds me of the Paladin healer I heal with. He is an awesome guy, and we like to mess around with healing meters and whenever I beat him I spam it in guild chat and raid chat. I then state in vent, "Who's your Papado? Who's your Papado?" That's his character's name, he has been the top healer in our guild for years now. He overheals by about 60 percent and still beats me on some fights.
To answer your question though, Healing meters where there is massive raid damage trees will generally win, because that's what they do. A raid healer should out heal a tank heal every time, because they have more people to heal. If you have a druid you will spend less time Chain healing and more time Lesser Healing wave on tank and spot healing. This means less HPS for you.
On Marrowgar, I crush all healers unless we have a druid, in which case they beat me as I focus more on tank heals. In 25 man, my job is to do everything so I tend to lead in heals, and am usually dead last in over healing
Edit:
I am an idiot your raid makeup is pretty crazy 2 raid healers and a tank/raid healer. No Disc Priest or Holy Paladin? This means you are the tank healer. The holy priest should be destroying both of you in heals if he is a competent raid healer.

I think that Resto Shamans are much more limited in their healing capabilities than Tree Druids are. Playing Resto Druid is one of the most automatic specs in the game, you can select people who are about to take large damage and roll hots on them to negate the damage while not manually healing them. Resto Shamans have one HoT which is limited by cooldown, perform far worse when people are scattered around and have to manually heal far more damage than a Resto Druid has to. Having to cast Chain Heal while a Druid's HoTs passively tick away at everyone doesn't help either.

Healing Meters:
Tank-damage fight (example: DB Saurfang, Gormok the Impaler) (Dreamwalker also falls into this category due to the nature of the fight, despite raid damage being much higher than tank damage):
Holy Paladins
Resto Shamans (Chainheal bouncing to every tank is sexy)
Disc Priests (if you include absorbs. They'd be higher but they lack effective multi-tank healing. On a single-tank fight they beat us)
Everyone else
Raid damage fight (example: Blood Queen Lana'Thiel, Twin Valkyrs):
Resto Druids
Resto Shaman
Holy Priest
Everyone else
.
Of course, most fights are a mix of the two.
We're not the best healer for either role. We are, however, the second-best healer for every role, and always a good choice, since very few fights hit either extreme. We're able to smoothly tank heal or raid heal on a per-fight, or even per-phase basis, with the same spec and same gear, and do so effectively. That is a powerful advantage.
.
Any guild who sees druids and pallies beating us on their respective type of "favorite encounter" and thus determines resto shaman to be "useless" or "bad" is, in and of itself, a bad guild, and not worth raiding with.

Better is relative.
Trees are unparalleled at mass healing as they can have hots rolling on up to 37 targets simultaneously, not including procs from trinkets/weapons/set bonuses/etc.
Shaman dominate at efficient healing as they're largely smart heals, healing those that need it the most.
Paladins are the best at 1-2 target nuke heals with Beacon and Holy Light.
Priests rule at preventative healing/support with PW:Shield and Guardian Spirit.
They tend to share some similarities in how they heal but each has a distinct strength at a healing style.
Different healing classes are just that, different, and your tree guildie is an asshat, your smart heals are what keep your raid from dying to raidwide damage so that the asshat tree's hots can heal them back to full and get their large amount of healing done.
