I personally love wowhead. You guys have put a lot of time and effort into making wowhead the website it is. With that said, allow me to say that I wish there was a way to get an actual API to search wowhead. I prefer the syntax wowhead uses over the armory any day, which is why when I had to try and load all the items from Icecrown 25 i looked here first.
So, I'm suggesting an actual API, a script we can include (like the Google JS/PHP/etc API). don't get me wrong, the feed for items is great, but I'd like a dungeon feed, class feed, ETC. I'd be more than willing to help, if need be to get this going.
just my thoughts.

There's a few problems with that... The ones the devs (I believe... correct me if I'm wrong here) are:
1. Supporting the increased load generated by the extra queries.
2. Preventing it from being exploited to mirror the database someplace else... (*cough* wowdb *cough*)
3. Time needed to develop being taken away from more important projects.
That said, I'd love to see either a proper API or proper XML support as well. Perhaps tied to a premium membership (kind of like how Google API keys work)?

This is something we've talked about in the past. It is definitely on our minds.

I figured you guys had either thought of it already and decided not to for some very plausible reason, or it's just not doable currently. be more than willing to help if you guys are just short on people.
and Wanderingfox: dont think google api keys are paid-only. I have a google api key and I have never paid google a dime. in fact, they've paid me.
