How Does Blizz Solve Threat Issues?

As a prot pally, I knew a nerf was coming. I thought it was going to be AoE aggro, or Ardent Defender, something that would better pace the aggro when in raids. In my guild, I am the MT and the DK is the OT. The DK had a lesser GS then me (about 100 points) until recently, and he had MORE HP then I did. He has since passed me in GS, and was over 50k when buffed.
Then Blizz did the hotfix and he was up to around 53k (maybe a lil more) when fully buffed. I was pushin 44k, when I was around 47k.
When we raided last night, I kept aggro on the mobs. He was second on Omen in threat, but never pulled off of me. At one point, I set off a trap, when the debuff came off, I got to the giant guard, and had 100% aggro in less then 10 seconds....And as the tanks know, the guard is not tauntable.
So how does Blizz equal out the aggro better? They nerf pally stam and buff DK stam? How does that work?
Sure on the main forums it says the pallies are now in line with the other plate wearing tanks...But doesn't this put DK HP head and shoulders above the others now, based on the example given?
Warriors are sick when it comes to aggro. Even when they DPS, warrior threat is nuts. Not familiar with druid tanks. But on my pally, unless the other tank is THAT much better geared then me, I usually rip aggro right off, and if I'm not the MT, I need to pace myself. I usually try to hit 2nd (or 3rd, depending on what is going on) and I click off RF.
I don't see how the stam buff and nerf is justified when threat and aggro is not even amongst the tank classes.
And yes, I know I'm behind on this topic. And the official forums have the thread locked down.

Don't worry, Blizz is still looking at Ardent Defender.

I did noticed in this VoA we did today on the Ice Watcher and the Dk had him for a few seconds then i sky rocketed up the threat charts. Had 160K Dps 30 seconds in to his 119K. I died because i had so much threat even when he taunted i still kepted, i even tried just melee attacking to save me, but by then i had 16 stacks of his debuff and i died.
I dont know if this really has to do with anything the Op's story just remainded me of it.

I know of threat modifiers on shield slam but I don't think it matters as as long as you can hold threat

IMO, pallies didn't need a stamina nerf. Maybe tweakage to Ardent Defender, but not the stamina, so I feel for you there.... still though, as a tanking class DKs got beat
to death
with the nerfstick all at once a few patches ago, and raising the stamina buff from frost presence was one of many things we've been really pushing for and was needed.

Pallies are basically the genetically superior master race of tanks in wotlk; most encounters work right into the mechanics of the paladin toolset, plus pretty much everything being undead in this expansion is in their favor as well. But even before this point, before ICC or even ToC, this has been more or less the norm, where if you've got a paladin main tank and xclass offtank, xclass is basically gonna be taunting one or two and holding them while the pally does the rest (easily). Which I don't really see a problem with; if it works, it works, and I don't complain just so long as it's not broken to the point where xclass feels totally broken or pointless, which was how DKs have felt to me up until recently.
In terms of threat generation though, what you're describing really isn't a problem, it's just how things work due to the specializations of our tanks.
