I keep seeing bits of information about this, but keep forgetting where I saw it. So can someone tell me if I have this right, and correct what I have wrong?
1. Stack Agility first.
2. Once pre-gemmed Armor Pen is around 400, stack/gem for ArP to the soft cap for whatever trinket you have (722 for Needle Encrusted Scorpion)
3. After ArP soft-cap, stack Agility again until the crit cap (around 75%?)
4. Beyond that point, start aiming for haste, hit and strength?
Can someone give me details on step 4, there? Is haste the next step or hit? Thanks

Excellent, thanks.
One other thing: I remember seeing that haste becomes a valuable thing to gem for at some point, but neither of you have mentioned it at all. Was I seeing things? Or would that theoretically come at the end with/after Strength? (aka, use the orange Str/Haste gems if I really want the socket bonus for a yellow socket)
One last question... what is the hit and exp cap for kitteh? Thanks!

Just quickly regarding the Agi to Arp switch. I'm almost 500 passive Arp now, and have the Needle Encrusted Scorpion, yet both Rawr and Toskk still suggest I stack agility. In fact, for items that have a yellow socket and a +agility socket bonus, I'm recommended by Rawr to use Agi+Crit gems.
Point being, the gist of what you've said is correct. But there are exceptions, and switching to Arp as you've described may actually be a DPS loss.

Hmm... good point. I have over 500 passive ArP anyway. One thing to note about using RAWR to figure out the tipping point, for those who may not know: there are two problems you must fix/address:
1. RAWR does not include ArP gems in the default gemming options. You have to manually add them before it will suggest them.
2. RAWR will only recommend gemming a single piece of gear at a time. So you may reach the tipping point, but it will still suggest you keep agility on a single piece b/c you have all agility on the rest of your gear. You have to manually change your gemming within the RAWR program for each applicable piece of gear... as you do that, you will see the ArP gemming option slowly gain ground on the Agility-gemmed options in the little window, there, until the ArP-gemmed options overtake the Agility-gemming (assuming you have enough ArP already)
I'm not saying that you don't already know this, windstrum... just a heads up for anyone who doesn't know.

Well blow me down with a feather, all of this I
didn't
know. Thanks vodadoe!
(Toskk still tells me to gem Agi, but at least I can get a
real
second opinion now. =] )

As a kitty that wants to really push maximum DPS, there are two main concerns: armor penetration cap and crit cap. One wants passive armor penetration cap and ~72% crit against a raid boss (the crit chance here is the raid buffed value, keep this in mind, and comes with perfect hit and expertise caps).
Haste becomes 'teh sh
i
t' only when you are at these levels. Because any more armor penetration over 1400 will be
useless
and any more agility will have lower value due to wasted crit chance. Normally melee swings are the largest portion of a pussy cat's damage (~32-34%). As such, once arp and agility lose their value, haste will further raise your white damage and also faster melee swings means more OOC procs (remember OOC has a flat 4% proc chance per auto attack) per time unit.
Strength would be another excellent option, since AP is not limited by any caps and Pussy cats have a good AP scaling. As a reminder, basically 1 strength = 2 AP. A talented cat will have +8% all stats bonus from talents. Counting Blessing of Kings, 1 base strength gives 1.188 strength buffed. 1.188 str = 2.376 AP. Cats get +10% AP from talents, so this becomes 2.613 AP. Now with a Trueshot Aura (or equivalent +10% AP buff), that goes up to ~2.875 AP. Now correct me if I;m wrong, but 2.875 AP per point of strength is pretty damn powerful. And AP buffs basically ALL damage. The only thing that puts haste ahead of AP is the RNG that may favor more frequent OOC procs.

I know Hit isnt above ArP per DPS point but the loss in white damage is significant to me.
not to mention
OoC
procs?

Something that I am also finding increasingly difficult is staying hit capped whilst going for the ArP cap. I know Hit isnt above ArP per DPS point but the loss in white damage is significant to me.
amen to the hit issues. :)
