Hello all,
I am looking to help a friend that plays as a Beast Master hunter. He is having problems getting his single target DPS over 3.7K, and his Agility is around 1745 and Ranged Attack Power is around 4700. Can the members of the hunter forum please look over his spec and gear to see if there is something that is missing or needs to be adjusted.
Please don't say that he needs to go to survival or marksman as he does not like those specs.

BM is going to be lower dps than the rest of the classes. Unfortunately that's just the way it is. During certain periods you will be able to put out more dps, but in the long run you will lose out, especially if your pet dies. Several changes need to be made to maximize his dps.
1. Don't gem Agility - That's for survival hunters or non-arp stacking MM hunters. You stack AP all the way with one Nightmare tear to complete your meta-gem requirements. Your pet benefits more from AP stacking than anything else.
2. Glyph of Hunter's Mark? - Really that's just bad - Glyph of Steady Shot, Glyph of Bestial Wrath, Glyph of the Hawk, Glyph of Kill Shot, Glyph of Serpent Sting are the only choices you have Steady shot being the only automatic must have. The rest are interchangeable.
3. His spec is a bit off -
53/13/5 is the recommended spec. If you are raiding with a ret paladin you can Ferocious Inspiration for Catlike Reflexes, though it requires more work to maintain your dps. You can also take out 1 point in Cobra Strikes and max out Mortal Shots.
4. Your Pet's Spec is a bit off. Dash, Boar's Speed, and Charge are as close to useless as possible. Boar's speed is the only one that is a dps increase. Charge is bugged for the most part, and putting charge on your pet bar will eliminate the space needed for more beneficial additions. Dash is a waste and that point is better spent in stamina.
