So im gettting back into my dk after having not touched him in a patch or two. I am leaning towards tanking with him again.
What do ya'll feel the top two tanking specs would be, that way i can try them both out and get a feel for them. I'll mainly be doing heroics and a little raiding once or so a week, and only 10 mans at that.
Ideas and opinions welcome, and thanks in advance

Thanks for the info, I'll play with both and see which fits my playstyle more.

You'll be much weaker on the AoE threat tough, which would hurt you in heroics.
I read that a lot but I don't really agree.
Most of your AoE threat comes from DnD which will be exactly the same in blood and frost.
Long term AoE threat in blood is awesome due to the ability to spam Blood Boil (frost and unholy runes become death runes, 6x BB in a row is great). Additionally the blood BB will deal far more damage than that of other specs.
The only AoE advantage that frost really has is
snap aggro
. HB will give you quite a large amount of initial aggro. However, after a second or two it will already be far behind DnD and long term the BB spam will procude way more AoE aggro than the occasional HB every 10 seconds.
Frost being good on AoE aggro is a myth. It is the best spec for snap AoE aggro but that's it.
But for 5mans (and raid trash) DnD will be enough anyway. I haven't found a single pull in which the HB snap aggro is really needed. DnD + diseases + BB spam is more than enough.

The problem is those first few seconds when you're getting diseases up, any trigger-happy mage/warlock/warrior with halfway decent gear will rip aggro off you in that time.
This. Happens to me very often, even i'm frost.
You have to be very fast and move quickly (and hope your group not too stupid as to move ahead of you - had a warlock today that was pulling every mob first, even bosses, dying and yelling "wtf?").
One thing I found, if you drop DnD where you want to tank beforehand, DPS usually see that and won't open fire until you stand on it. Even mobs could run around, most of DPS still sane enough to understand where you want them and let them go to you first.

if you have HB glyphed to put frost fever on and then you drop DnD after...it'll increase the dmg of your DnD. Also most frost specs have
black ice
. DnD does shadow dmg so black ice will increase the dmg by 10% you have 5/5 points. hence DnD's threat will be higher in frost then in blood.
and i agree with iralima...usually whenever i'm tanking a random heroic i kinda assume that every player is a noob and i'm now their baby sitter. along the way they'll prove otherwise (hopefully). anyway the snap agro that glyphed HB provides is very nice for those situations because bloods initial agro isn't that great and a player that's assuming your dnd is enough to hold agro on everything will usually pull off you. I've been in maybe a few heroics where the whole group actually focuses on 1 mob or waits for you to generate threat. usually their all focused on something else and they start the moment your dnd goes down.
