i have soloed every tbc heroic with my warrior. No Bloodthirst specc, pretty standard deep wounds prot specc with mixed block value and pve dps gear works best for me.
Some bosses (especially 2nd and last one in MGTh) absolutely wrecks me when i try in standard tanking gear. My damage is far to low, so i think its totally worth giving up a lot of hp for more damage at many fights.
With Bloodthirst and rest in prot, sure you can self-heal but it will take forever to kill anything.

Also if you solo in pvp gear you can both be def capped and still benefit from blood craze b/c resilience is triggered before def and it procs blood craze.
Not useful, because defense also allows Blood Craze to proc, so you'd better keep it and the avoidance it brings you rather than get some resilience.

Paladins have soloed most vanilla content, and a fair amount of BC content.
I believe we had screenshots of a Prot Pally who solo'ed VH. Then he respec'd Ret and solo'ed it again.
Then there's the DK who solo'ed HoS (I think?)
Just try it and see how you go.

Are you sure about that? The comments under the spell in wowhead say that it doesn't proc if you are def capped aka crit imune, but that it will proc if you any resilience on. As in, you stay def capped but you also have resiliance.
I'm sure of it because I personnally saw it proc while in my tanking gear that has zero resilience on. Even posted about it
