So I have been doing some research as to what gear to strive for with my resto druid but I am getting a bit confused. I would like direct advice on my gear and what to do to upgrade it which I need to do. Please be kind I am not a hard core gamer, I am just casual gamer.

Raid Healing SpecCan alternatively do 1/3 brambles and 3/3 NG, they're largely fillers.
If you're able, try to get your hands on
Val'Anyr, if it's out of you're reach 2nd best would be
Trauma.
Your haste cap to reduce the GCD to 1 second with an ideal group/raid comp is 735 rating.
Stat Priority
- haste (till cap)
- spell power
- spirit
- intellect
- crit
- mp5
Haste reduces the GCD allowing you to roll hots on more people simultaneously, something no amount of SP can change, making it the best stat to aim for till its cap.
Sockets
- Blues worth matching should be Intricate (haste/spirit) to haste cap and Purified (sp/spirit) after haste cap.
- Yellows worth matching should be Quick (haste) or Reckless (sp/haste) to haste cap and Luminous (sp/int) after haste cap.
- Reds should be Reckless (sp/haste) to haste cap and Runed (sp) after haste cap.
If a socket isn't worth matching use Quick (haste)
only if it's needed to reach the haste cap, Reckless (sp/haste) if below haste cap, and Runed (sp) after haste cap.
Insightful Earthsiege Diamond is the meta of choice for raid heals, if you don't have one of each color gem in your gear you can use a Nightmare Tear to activate it.

Try to replace crit pieces with haste pieces (but keep 4t9). So try to find a Haste cloak, bracers and weapon. You can use the database filters to find
some good options.
Shriveled Heart is also a better offhand than your current one.
Trinkets: Spark of Hope is one of the best regen trinkets in the game. But Talisman of Resurgence just isn't that great for druids. You might want to try to get
Ephemeral Snowflake out of H HoR for a dual-regen set. But still, neither of your trinkets is that great for throughput (Spellpower). Try to get your hands on
Illustration of the Dragon Soul or
Eye of the Broodmother for some good throughput set options.
Solace of the Defeated is a good combination piece (good throughput, good regen).
I don't entirely agree with Hashmel on gems. Your gems should always be red or red-combos, using spellpower. If it's a yellow socket bonus worth getting (like your helm or chest) use a Reckless Ametrine. If it's a blue socket bonus wirth getting (like your pants) use a Purified Dreadstone. The haste cap is handy, but not as important as more spellpower (plus you should be able to get pretty close to the cap just based on gear and your Reckless gems).
