First of all DR is usually referred to as Diminishing Returns. So I was a bit confused as to what was going on.
As far as I know there is no cap to damage reduction %. However there is an Armor physical damage reduction cap 75% or so it was back in BC when I actually asked this question.
% of general reduction will apply first I'm sure, then armor % (if applicable).
Your second question, no.
Your last question, I already answered apparently...there is no cap.

Damage reduction from talents is addative to your damage reduction from armor.

I stand corrected with logic.

Damage reduction from armor caps at 75%
Damage reduction from talents/abilities has no cap as it's multiplicitive.
No, while casting/channeling you cannot dodge/parry/block but can still be missed.
Passive Physical Damage Intake
Paladin = 1 *
0.94
*
0.97
*
0.97
*
0.97
= 85.791262%
Passive Magic Damage Intake
Paladin = 1 *
0.94
*
0.97
*
0.97
*
0.94
*
0.97
= 80.643786%
Active Physical Damage Intake
Paladin = 1 *
0.94
*
0.97
*
0.97
*
0.97
*
0.5
= 42.895631%
Active Magic Damage Intake
Paladin = 1 *

0.97
*
0.94
*
0.97

0.5
= 40.321893%
Damage taken * damage intake% * (1 - armor reduction%) = damage received
Say a 10k hit with 62% physical reduction from armor without Divine Protection up.
10,000 * 85.791262 * (1 - 0.62) = 3,260.06788 damage received

Awesome - those are great numbers to see. Raid buffed Im sitting at around 67% damage reduction. Now I can calculate which fights it would be better for me to use the stam trinket over the armor one and vice versa.
