When damage is applied, in what order do the gameengine go trough the damagereduction mechanics(or similiar). Please include ressilience aswell :)
A mate of mine thought that maybe ressilience came into consideration AFTER the shield, I dont think this however, but would be nice to actually know.
Example of what i would like to know(THIS IS NOT CORRECT, JUST PLAUSIBLE)
check dodge > check parry > check armor > check buffs(renewed hope etc) > check stat1 > check shield1
Thanks alot
Soooo based on answers in this post i have:
Damage Reduction (armor/resil/renewed hope/resistance) > Avoidance(dodge/parry) > Block > Absorb (DA>SS>PW:S ?) > Damage
I've been lead to believe that DA gets "killed" before pws, cuz i've got "a more powerfull spell is already active" message while keeping DA on max on tank(which had aggro all the time) when trying to cast pws without weakened soul up.

AFAIK it works like this:
Modify Damage(Armr/resil/Renewed Hope > Abosorb(PW:S/DA/SS) > Avoid(Dodge/Parry/Miss) > Mitigate(block) > Damage.
I havent tested it this is just an assumption

I cant get a source either, however i am fairly certain it goes
Damage reduction (armor/resil/renewed hope) ->avoid(dodge parry miss) ->absorb/block (to the game the same thing) -> damage

As far as damage reduction goes, I'm pretty sure % damage reductions are all applied at the same time (% armor if physical, resilience, temporary buffs like inspiration or pain suppression). Then if the hit was a block, the damage is reduced by the block value. After that the damage is applied against absorb effects (PWS, DA, etc), and then whatever is left over goes to the player.
At risk of being flamed for stepping back onto the Priest forums, this is right. Spell resist gets applied in the first bit along with the % damage reductions. Absorb comes in after block. I don't about which shields get applied first (eg, PW:S vs Sacred Shield), though you'd hope it's the one most likely to expire soon that gets knocked off first.

Actually I want to say it would be the absorb effect that will absorb the least amount before disapating.
I KNOW from experience that DA will take damage before PWS on a target that has both, however sacred shield....pretty sure SS goes before PWS but after DA (which also fits you soonest expire therory, better understood as the duration therory DA=8 sec SS~20sec PWS=30sec

I also second the DA goes first before PW:S.
SS, most likely the same story.
