Does Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

People think he is peaceful for "stopping the war". But he has yet to do this. Just 5 days ago, an alumni of my high school was killed in Afghanistan. His morals might be in the right place, but that doesn't matter if he fails to display them.
Do you remember what he promised to do during the election? Renew the war in Afghanistan. He's made no official statement retracting that promise.

He deserves a reward for pushing legislation to extend the school year, extend the school day and hold session 7 days a week.
Problem: Americans are dumber than the rest of the world.
Solution: Make them stay in their bad schools with their bad teachers using their bad curriculum longer.
I lol'd.

well, saying americans are dumber is generalization.
though,Idd they seem not to notice that there is something outside america.
And yes,70-80% graduation rate (sorry, don't remember exactly) is unacceptable

Back on topic, has anyone actually released any information as to why he's won the award? Because I am very confused...
"for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."
That's the official statement.

Whenever I hear "we need to get all students to graduate from high school", I laugh. Some people are stupid - period. All lowering the bar to pass them through will do is diminish the "achievement" of those who are stupid but at least have enough brain capacity to get through the lol that is high school.

To that end, I must say the European education system is much better in that regard.
Back on topic, I still don't really know about their reasoning...

I don't think he does, not because I don't think he has the potential to earn it, which he does, but because he has yet to achieve his goals.
Also, Mytie, Nelson Mandela and Yasser Arafat deserved the award in my opinion. Because, while they may have been part of terrorist organizations, their motivations and work were both for very good causes, I don't think you are in support of apartheid, and I hope you don't approve of what the israeli government is doing to the palestinians. Can you honestly say that, when faced with a government that oppressed your people and refused to listen to any nonviolent approaches to the problem, you wouldn't eventually become frustrated enough to try something drastic?I read this part like 5 times:
Nelson Mandela and Yasser Arafat deserved the award in my opinion. Because, while they may have been part of terrorist organizationslol
Riiiiiiiight....
As if the wrongs that Israel does make Yasser Arafat deserving of the nobel peace prize. That's so twisted in thinking it makes me dizzy. That would be like saying:
"I believe Ted Bundy deserves the nobel peace prize. I mean, he did kill a lot of innocent people, but the American car industry is really having a tough time."
It's like your saying something crazy at the same time as your saying something confusing. The confusing ALMOST covers up the crazy. But, not quite.

On topic a bit: Now that Obama has gotten his nobel peace prize, it is high time Keanu Reaves got his for stopping the matrix.

Well on my grand list people who deserve a Nobel, you're next right after Obama, MyTie. Better get you acceptance speech ready.

I could care less about students being educated. Public schools are nothing more than glorified daycare centers. Keep 'em in school and off the streets (and their computers). Ya dig?
I'm paying for public schools, so I do care about them.

and here's the problem, the same problem exists in my country too. Public schools SHOULDN'T be glorified daycare centers. They should be.....well.....schools. Something has gone really bad in the educational system along the way imo
also MyTie for
president
nobel prize
