Was reading that and noticed some particularly interesting comments...
Firstly, the most important one I think is for Thrall to step up to the plate like he does in the books and RTS. Enough of this silly "you disappoint me" and stuff... Thrall needs to lay Garrosh out on his ass and explain to him that we don't fight humans any more. He needs to explain that with the Doomhammer.
Same goes for the Forsaken. There needs to be some indication that Thrall isn't going to let anything like the Wrathgate happen again. Ever. I don't mind if he lets Sylvanas slide (after a bit of fetish fueling groveling), but all the leash space the Forsaken have gotten since they joined (to the point where they openly have a demon in the position of leadership) needs to be yanked back. "You can still be on our side, but you're going to do what we say, when we say it, and exactly how we say it."
Next, where the %$#@ are Vol'jin, Cairne, and Lor'themar? They do NOTHING. I'd like to see them up in Northrend rallying troops Dark Portal style! Remember that! Remember going through the Dark Portal to see Commander Duron and that Tauren Fellow constantly holding back a never ending tide of demons? That was %$#@ing epic! Put Cairne there! Vol'jin! I don't care, but give them something!
Give us back real three dimensional leaders!
Garrosh's angry has gotten old. It just has. He doesn't even have a real reason to be angry, and if he does, it's terribly explained. If this guy becomes Warchief, why would the entire orc race just hop up and follow him despite it being the exact opposite of what Thrall wants? What about the Tauren, whose leader he apparently kills?
Orcs vs. Human has gotten old. Everyone sees that we're not as different as we thought, and we don't really have a reason to hate eachother other than "it's what we've always done."
I'm getting so sick of this watered down skeleton plot that we're getting to encourage world PvP or whatever. It's outright making me mad to see legends like Thrall and Cairne reduced to sad mommy figures while one dimensional anger machines are being made into the up and coming leaders.
Reading those comments actually renewed my feeling that I will quit if this goes through and keeps going in the same direction. If Garrosh and Varian are the future of WoW, then Warcraft is past it's time and I'd at least like to leave while my memories of it are still good. I'll always have my WoW books to look back to for real lore.

I want Thrall to have the balls he had in Lord of the Clans.
I want Garrosh to...either take a WoW break (He's getting nerd-rage) Or have a nice gory death. Preferably including a meat grinder of some sort.

Although I would also find it deliciously fun to have him get his ass kicked by Saurfang or Thrall. And not "You fought honorably, son of Hellscream. May you find rest in the next life," ass kicked, I mean, "Ho damn! Garrosh just got punched in the teeth by Varok Saurfang! He's getting his ass handed to him on a plate!" ass kicked.

Of course, Alliance needs it too. We need more Velen trying to promote factional peace, we need Magni grabbing Varian by the chin and telling the lad to chill out before he pounds him into the ground like a tent peg, we need to see more Tyrande.... actually maybe not, seeing as the last time she was active she murdered all the Barrow guards and let her crazyarse brother in law free......
And with Gnomer being reborn in Cataclysm, we might see more with the High Tinker.

But Tyrande is hawt. :<
I personally want Jaina to be like "ZOMG DIE SUE!" In a meeting with Me'dan. *Conjures fire* KAPLOWIEEEE!
-------
Mount Hyjal
KAPLOWIEEEE!
Thrall: *Sigh* Malfurion, you need help with your explosion um...obsession.
Malfurion: Why are you looking at me? *Runs off crying*

Exactly, Alliance too. I mean, Varian acts like he's the leader of the Alliance, but he's not.
He apparently withdrew all Alliance forces from Ulduar, but wait... how? You don't think Magni's gonna be a little miffed that his little brother says that something needs doing and Varian says it's not going to happen? What about Velen? A god of death lives down there, but because Mr. Chin over there got attacked, we're withholding troops. And when was the last time Tyrande did ANYTHING in WoW?

I personally want Jaina to be like "ZOMG DIE SUE!" In a meeting with Me'dan. She can't do that.... it would remove more reasons to go and flirt with Thrall while he tries to not be embarassed by it.
Like I said, Tyrande........... yeah, when she's active, people die. But you raise a good point on the others. Kinda funny that he says "No Alliance forces will help!" but the Explorer's league is in there working away, ignoring the Human king as unimportant compared to the real threat.... and all those great and amazing historical discoveries waiting to be found.

If I had that attitude about story developments I didn't like, I'd have quit bothering with Warcraft when Reign of Chaos came out for making the Orcs into hippies, which is a change I never liked.
But I didn't. I continued taking interest in the Warcraft series, and now I'm still around to see the story swinging back in a direction of direct Horde-Alliance conflict that I've been waiting a long time for.
Give it time. The pendulum happens to be swinging back towards the side of war and conflict at this point. Don't just run away and say "oh, I don't like how the story's going! I'll just wallow in older lore that I like better!" Stick with it and I bet you things will come around to match with your preference again, one way or another, just like they're coming around to match my preference at this point in time.

Everyone has already said my points of view.
Vol'jin, Cairne, & Lor'themar need to do something, Thrall needs to be badass, etc.

Blizzard seems to be ripping away all the flesh and blood of the plot that they've spent years developing, and I'd rather quit while it's ahead rather than waiting for it to die a slow and painful death.
Still not quitting yet, I'm gonna give Cataclysm a chance, but if the new lore is as bad as I think it's going to be, and the expansion after doesn't show signs of improvement, I'm jumping ship.

I'd like to see Garrosh become Warchief.
Now, before you get all up in arms about it, imagine the twists in the plot of WoW. The constant battling, backed up by massive disputes and arguments between the Mag'har and Varian, perhapes even a full out battle between the two. It would be very interesting.

I love Thrall, and I'm a devout follower of the "orcs can be good guys" side. It just %^&*es me off for Garrosh to try to kill that argument.

They are, and that adds more plot. Those of the Horde that want peace in open or near-open revolt. I'm a fan of Thrall to, but I'm also a fan of a good story.

I love Thrall too, but I hate stagnancy, and the whole "for the greater good" idea, is just that. If it takes Garrosh becoming the Warchief and Thrall becoming the Guardian of Tirisfal... I'll take it.

But really, if the Orcs go on a second rampage trying to kill anything not on their side, how can there possibly be any coming back from that for that proponents of peace? Already the Alliance barely trusts them for that one rampage 20 years ago... If they've done it twice, one being within the last year or so, and Thrall wasn't able to stop them, how can peace with the humans ever exist within this lifetime?
