Just use FT the entire time on your offhand. The reason you sometimes hear people talk about not using FT until 75 is because that's the soonest you can max out
Elemental Fury
.
The advice that Windfury is better than flametounge until 5/5 elemental fury is based on a raiding rotation. Raids give you much more AP, and you can depend on the presence of armor debuffs, both of which greatly help windfury. Leveling up is not raiding, so I wouldn't heed waiting until 75 to start using flametongue offhand.

-From 20 to 24, Frost shock hits for noticeable higher amounts then Earth Shock, while at the same time dealing with the whole mob running away scared situation.
-
Slow 2H
with Frostbrand, kill the mobs faster for me then a Slow 2H with Flametongue, Fast 2H with Flametongue or any combination involving a 1H weapon.
Just my experience

I just gotta say... WTF , This was freaking amazing, thought enhancement was overrated for lvling, lvled ele until 42, then i tested Enh with a few greenies from the AH, omg, takes 2-3 sec to down a mob...
THANKS ALOT! xD

Hey Trollvink, like the updates you've made to the spec. One minor point: With Ghost Wolf now available at 16, you probably wanna put it sooner in your spec. Personally I'd invest in those points at 15 and 16, so you can have insta-GW right off the bat.
Also, I feel like you're really underselling how great IGW is. The way you phrase it, it sounds pretty situational, maybe even hit or miss, and that just seems ridiculous to me. It's not all that helpful a talent for end-game, but for leveling and soloing it's frigging amazing. There will be innumerable times when you'll be fighting mobs that are closely packed enough that mounting just won't be worth the time but walking would still be too slow. And if you're an Herbalist or Skinner, you can stay in GW and gather. And there are things you can do in GW form you can't on a mount; recently I've found it phenomenal for doing the fire extinguishing dailies during Hallow's End. I can stay in GW the whole time, beating people moving around on epic mounts who have to waste time constantly remounting.
If I had some statistics on which spell or ability that I have that I have cast the most, I am confident that GW would be, if not at the very top, one of the most used skills I have. Don't equivocate on IGW. It is an awesome talent that will be extremely convenient for getting around, thus improving leveling. And if you go so far as to glyph it (something I never bothered with, but it'd make sense), it'll also help reduce what little downtime you already by boosting your health regen.

I disagree, WF/WF is best for leveling. Once you have 15 in Elemental then FT is better (also you will have Enhance gear by then with the normal 5 stats, instead of whatever piecemail you got when leveling). Note my 2nd glyph is WF, that makes sure I nearly always get a WF proc with another 2% chance.

I know that GW is pretty useful on insta-cast in situations where you can quickly pop from one close location to another without wasting the cast time on summoning a mount. So it becomes an issue to the player whats more beneficial to him/her. Just thought maybe this may be useful to consider in a spec. All in all though, very awsome guide.
Because mounts cannot be used in combat. It also is a boon for gathering (GW to the next node instead of mounting up). Another reason is getting to the next mob, you can GW to save some time while running to the next target.
I wouldn't level with imp GW.

You might want to use a fast weapon, so that Flametongue hits more (which does more damage than it would on a slow weapon).
Outdated. Flametongue scales with attackspeed, essentially making a slower weapon better, thanks to Stormstrike. Ofcourse, the sentence above is from level 10 - 19, so it doesn't really matter much at that point, but the information is still wrong.

Very nice guide... at the moment i am levelling a shaman and i reached 42 so far... as u said: ROCK AND ROLL!
One tip maybe:
I couldnt resist to put dual weapons on with level 41, diretly after reaching the dual skill. To gain some bitter needed hit, I crafted with my Jewelsguy :
This!
With 2 Maces and a weapon skill of 200 (hit 22) , i had a missing rate of ~ 17 % (low samplesize) , but the tempo the mobs went to earth was still amazingly faster than the tempo with a 2hander.
(sorry for my bad englisch , folks...just a dumb german guy....hrhr)

I just have a small question for ya, Trollvink.
I recently started a shaman, and was planning to level her as elemental. So I got her the BoA staff (Headmaster's Charge I think) with +30 SP on it, the BoA spell damage leather to mail chest & shoulders. No trinkets, cause I'm too cheap and lazy to get the badges for them. :|
Anyway, I'm having SOME fun leveling her, but I dont like flinging spells all the time. Is it possible to level the shaman with the BoA spell damage mace (again +30 SP enchant on it) and using those spell damage leather/mail BoA armor as enhancement?
I'm just curious, is all.
