Really? Because I know there are macros out there that mount you on flying mounts, and if you can't ground mounts--- I was thinking along those lines.
They don't use an "if then" structure though.
They use conditionals, I think.

In general, the spells in a macro attempt to cast in the order you list them.
You can get a kind of "if/then/else" by simply listing them in the order you want them to be attempted.
If a spell CAN work, it will (and trigger global cooldown, preventing the rest from working)...if it CAN'T work, due to it's own cooldown or Global cooldown, it will then attempt to cast the next spell, and so on.
So in general, You would put the high cooldown/long casting spells first, then spells with lower casting times and cooldowns, and the last spell should be an instant/no cooldown if you have any (so the macro will always do SOMETHING)..but if you have more than one such spell, don't put them in the same macro, because the first one will ALWAYS work (assuming you have enough mana) and you will never cast any listed after that one.
