Now let's assume there is some analogy between organic systems (life, biological cells, etc) and anorganic systems (stone, minerals and other stuff). This would mean that Time is speeded up when there's a LOT of Energy, no matter where. And it is slowed down when there's a lack of Energy.
So maybe that's why when you're a little kid in school, one hour-long class seems to take forever? Yet, when you are having a lot of fun, everything seems to pass by really fast?

also "by the conversion of energy into matter and vice versa" can't be in the definition of time, because that process relies on time to exist. Circular.
Does it? Matter converting may instigate the temporal dimension. Is that plausible?

yes and no
the example you gave is based on feelings
but I rather meant the physical aspect which I dunno about, but I still have an assumption for it

Finity ÷ Infinity = 0
Incorrect. The limit of Finity ÷ Infinity = 0. Your product on the other hand is incomprehensible.
I'll be back for more. I is hungry.

Funny, I was just thinking about time. Einstein says two things slow time: intense gravity and speeds close to c. (for this point on, all I say is what I think, not fact. I might be wrong). Now, at very high speeds, light would take more time to reach you, and since light is effected by gravity, high gravity would slow it down ( I think it might be something like say, a particle trying to go in a direction and a force opposing it slowing it down).
The only problem I see with all this is that it suggests that time is merely our perception of everything around us, can that be true? I dunno, but then why would something that we perceive slow our aging or speed it up, for example.
edit: I think that time is just change (and since everything is always changing, time goes on). I mean think about it, if everything stop changing, time would have stopped, right?

Time does not exist. It is an idea that humans give a name. The effects of time can be seen everywhere but it still does not exist.

social security.

Finity + Infinity = Infinity
Edit: If you have an infinite amount of water, and you add a glass of water, you still have an infinite amount of water, not nothing.

oy, what do you think about all I just said? :D

Funny, I was just thinking about time. Einstein says two things slow time: intense gravity and speeds close to c.Don't think Eienstien and I are on the same page here. If you were to go toward light at the same speed as light, events would appear to happen twice as fast, until your eye reached the source of the light, and then you would either collide with the object or stop. Through the entire experience, the fixed object and you would still be in the same place in time. The problem is a flaw in math. Math relies on the speed of light to define time. That flaw causes any equasion that factors out the speed of light to affect time. The two are not necessarily so closely related.

Change is definately related to time in some way. The big questions are: Does change cause time, or does time cause change?

Time is man made That is odd. I wonder how animals fair without time, or other galaxies. How do they spin and develop? How does that process happen without time? Mind explaining your theory?
Unless, you are saying that the perception of time is man made. In that case, I would agree with you.

Well, now that I think on it, I don't think time is an entity, as in, there is nothing called time, only change. People just came up with all these units to be able to apply it in real life an physics and stuff. not sure, But I doubt that time is a thing, unlike space.

What dictates the rate of change then?

If there is only change, then why isn't my clock done spinning already? Let me explain:
The second law of thermodynamics is an expression of the universal law of increasing entropy, stating that the entropy of an isolated system which is not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium.
Other than the fact that this is one of the only (maybe the only) law of thermodynamics that has to do with time, and explicitly relies on time to exist, the fact remains that entropy must have a set rate of increase. Time is the ____ that defines and confines that entropy. Otherwise, I would be dead, or maybe never lived in the first place, I'm not sure. Since I can sit here and type this message, I must have the time to do it... and as we can see, entropy is taking over.... almost there.... yes, we have reached it, entropy has done it's work and this post is done.
