Depends on personal taste. The book had a good premise, story and theme, but I honestly despise Hemingway's writing style.
Agreed. It can be a bit... tedious.

There's this old Greek tale about Achilles (I think that's the right name...so many to remember), a man who was given the opportunity to choose between fighting against Troy or stay in his little village, cross-dressing as a maiden to stay out of war, his mother knew he would die there. While he was undecided, his mother came to him and told him that if he went to the war, he would gain eternal glory, and his memory would never die, and if he stayed in his village he would have a wife, kids, live long and happy.
Ultimately, Achilles chose to go to the war and in there, he fought, won and died, and what was said to him became true. He died in glorious combat, as well as defeated his hated enemy, Hector. The End.
Later, the same person met him in the Hades, crying, weeping, and asked him why was he not happy for achieving eternal glory and memory. Odysseus them says that he doesn't care that he will always be remembered, he wishes he could go back and not go to Troy, because, no matter how much times his name will be said in the future, he himself never achieved true happiness.
Now
good night.
