I'm having doubts about So, if anyone remembers how stupid I was a while ago, going around changing my classes to have one with the girl I was with at the time (Who broke up with me, no less), well, I managed to turn that around this week.
I was presented with the opportunity to take a class on manufacturing at a local engineering business, and I took it.This venture tends to lead to jobs with said business, too., and it also replaces the last half of the class that I have with her..
now... And I don't know why. :/
I have ~15 hours to make my decision.

I don't watch a lot of TV series. The only one I really watch are reruns of Law & Order: SVU. Other then that, I mainly watch the Science channel to lurn me sumtin.
I usually watch the Science channel or Discovery nowadays as well, but I occasionally catch a show that I really like and I'll sit and watch it for days on end.
One that I'd really like to catch up on is Wilfred. I've only gotten to see a few episodes of it, but it's hilarious.
I'd also recommend Workaholics and Louie.

Well, I somewhat lied. I do watch Workaholics and Wilfred once in a while. I watched a lot of Archer when it was on TV too. Nowadays, if I have free time though, I'm going to spend it on WoW.

So power is nice to have. Just got mine back after about 4 days. Internet is still spotty, and cell service is a no go like 50% of the time, but at least no more frigid showers in October =D

Welcome back, Elhonna! Glad to know you're safe.
We were out of power for 4 and a half days last April, due to a random snow storm that happened. It was probably the most fun I've had, living without power.
Side note: just got a Dyson vacuum. Life is complete.

So, I just took a look at SWTOR's features for players who are Free2play vs subscribers.
Bioware has to be out of their god-damned minds.
Look at this stuff:
NUMBER 1
2 Character Slots per server (very restrictive, but not too bad I guess, if you want to play all the character stories you'll have to hop through 4 servers)
NUMBER 2
Less Priority to login queues. (Fair enough)
NUMBER 3
On Character Creation, you can only choose 3 races, Humans, Cyborgs, and Zabraaks. (Not too bad, this game has screwed up when it comes to race selection, as they're all just variations of humans, there's Humans, Blue Humans, Green Humans, Grey Humans with bald head, Humans with a blindfold, Humans with bits of metal on the face, ect. They all have the same faces, same bodies, same animations, same emotes, same voice-actors, same hairstyles, same EVERYTHING. So them restricting you to just Human Cyborg and Zaabrak doesn't really imposes much of a restriction)
Up to here, things seem fair enough. Its after this point that it becomes ridiculous.
NUMBER 4
Can't send mail (what? -.-)
NUMBER 5
Can only post 2 items on the Auction House. (Lol -_-)
NUMBER 6
Very limited amount of messages you can send on public channels per minute
NUMBER 7
Can only do 3 battlegrounds per week (this is so stupid, given that this is THE ONLY decent pvp activity in the game, what are pvpers supposed to do?)
NUMBER 8
Can only do 3 instances per week (again, stupid)
NUMBER 9
Can only do 3 space missions per week (why? its not like these even reward epics or anything other than exp and money)
NUMBER 10
Can't do Raids, ever.
NUMBER 11
YOU DON'T HAVE A BANK (come on!)
NUMBER 12
Very teeny tiny inventory space.
NUMBER 13
Heartstone cooldown is absolutely horrible (SIX HOURS!)
NUMBER 14
can only rezz at the graveyards, no more rezzing in the field.
NUMBER 15
Can't equip any epics, only greens and blues.
NUMBER 16
You can only have a maximum of 150k credits on your inventory (its like if in wow you could only have 1500g at most)
NUMBER 17
Can't do trades with anyone.
NUMBER 18
Can only respec your talent tree ONCE A MONTH! (Seriosuly, WHAT THE F***) Couple this with a lack of dual-spec and good luck trying to find tanks and heals, because leveling as those is a nightmare
and here is the absolute worst part:
NUMBER 19
only one profession allowed per character.
You may as well not get a profession. What are you gonna do with it? in SWTOR you need a crafting profession (to create stuff) a gathering profession (to get materials to create stuff) and a mission profession (to get blue/purple quality materials to create stuff)
If you can have all 3 (as is the case with subscribers) then all is Kosher. If you can only have 1, WHAT are you gonna do with it? you can't use it for profit, seeing as you can only post 2 items on the Auction house at a time. Ohh wait, I got it, I'll make a Jedi Knight, make him the crafter, and then make another toon, like a Consular, make him the gatherer, and make a third toon, like a Trooper, and make him the mission profession guy.
WRONG, you can only make 2 toons per server, so you can only craft green quality stuff that is in no way better than the stuff you get as quest-rewards.
So, can't profit from them, and can't craft anything useful out of them. What is the point of having a profession then? can I at least BUY the mats? BZZZZ, with a limit as small as 150k maximum credits on you at any given time, good luck trying to buy the rarest mats, or even the basic ones. And even if somehow you pull through, you make 1 toon the crafter, and 1 toon the gatherer, and you BUY the Rare-quality mats from the AH (and the AH is the only way to buy, good'ol fashioned trades are barred for you) What then?
That awesome epic item you just crafted? you can't equip it, can you sell it? nope, since you can't possibly hold the cost of it on your inventory (average epic costs 500k credits, you can only have 150k at any given time) THEN WHY DID YOU MADE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Bioware is going the complete bonkers way with this horrid Free2Play mode. This isn't free2play, this is Pay2Win.
As Dan Stapleton said:
"The joy of online strategy gaming, and online gaming in general,
is defeating an opponent who was just as likely to defeat you
—so how much fun is a game if, no matter how good you are, you may get owned by some kid who blew his allowance on the game store?
If you don't stand a chance in a 'free' game without shelling out, then the game ain't really free.
"
This is laughable at best, they're seriously trying to win back customers this way? Sheesh. For all its flaws, Lineage II did a REAL free2play move, where ALL of the game content is available to everyone, and the only stuff you buy on the gameshop is cosmetic stuff, and at most XP buffs to level faster, but not this crap.
Ohh man, how the mighty have fallen, I had such high hopes for SWTOR, but it turned out to be nothing more than a fiasco of epic proportions. Why not swallow the pride and go Full F2P all the way? what are they trying to prove? that they're still relevant?
sheesh.

Hi kids- sorry I haven't been posting QOTD's- I've had no power, internet, heat or hot water since Monday. Completely fine here- no damage other than the $60 bucks in frozen and refrigerated food I had to toss. If anyone was wondering, Chef Boyardee is not horrible at room temperature. Neither are wine coolers =D I am unable to commute to work because there is a shortage of gas in my area and I don't have any left in my car. However, my company only got power back today, and still had no phone or internet, so I wouldn't have had much to do when I was there.
Thank you for wondering where I was- though I wonder if that means I spend way too much time online....lol.

That's still less restrictive than WoW's Starter Edition in a lot of ways, rank.

OverZealous
So, basically, F2P SWTOR is like a starter edition version of WoW, or something, only a little bit worse? Sounds like Bioware's decision making isn't quite top notch, lately. That's just totally ridiculous. I mean, what the flying crap.

not at all.
Wow's starter edition is a free trial.
SWTOR already has a free trial, which is more or less 90% identical to wow's free trial.
When they move to Free2Play though, they're advertising that their game has gone free, when in reality that thing is still very much unplayable unless you subscribe.
So, basically, F2P SWTOR is like a starter edition version of WoW, or something, only a little bit worse? Sounds like Bioware's decision making isn't quite top notch, lately. That's just totally ridiculous. I mean, what the flying crap.
As I said
SWTOR already has a free trial (or starter edition if you want)
Which is EVEN MORE restricted than what I linked before.
But that list I linked on my previous post? that's not free trial, that's AFTER YOU ACTUALLY BUY THE GAME.
that's how retail full accounts are gonna be once their horrid "Free" to play model comes into play.
As I said before, that's all but free, the game is nigh-unplayable in almost every sense of the way unless you either shell out lots of $_$ for cartel coins on their web-shop, or setup a subscription. Or both.
They have no idea how to properly do a functioning F2P model. Look at lineage II, now that game still has a lot of issues (many of those issues drove me to quit that game almost 7 years ago) but its free to play model is actually free, you get to experience the full package paying absolutely nothing.
All the paid comodities are stuff you can do without, such as hats, mini-pets, and buff-packs to level up faster. But nothing that gives you an unfair advantage over others, or OP items.
There was one other restriction I forgot to say: Free accounts will have an XP penalty. All XP gained from mobs and quests is reduced by 30%.
Considering you still have to buy the damned game to create your account once it goes "Free" these restrictions are point-black stupid.
