BTW- I know we were discussing that DC made that announcement about one of their superheroes coming out. It was Green Lantern, if anyone wanted to know.
Green Lantern's gay? :o It seems a bit random to add that now, like 50 years into the character. I understand characters introduced as gay (I think there's a couple in X Men getting married soon, and I think there's a male couple in the Avengers?), but adding on something like sexuality this many years on is just... no. Unless this is a legacy character - as in an entirely new guy becoming the Green Lantern, in which case discard my mini-rant.

I don't know- is there more than one at once? If not, I'd imagine it's the current one.

Except Green Lantern is a "Legacy Character"
That is to say, Multiple people wear the ring and become green lantern. There's like a billion of them too :P (*)
(Disclaimer* There may not in fact be a billion of them, as far as we know, it could be 2 billions)

I know there's more than one in the Lantern Corps (is that what they're called? I only watched the Ryan Reynolds movie and I've forgotten most of that already), but I assume in that instance the Green Lantern refers to the bearer of Ryan Renyolds' ring in specific, or something. I don't know.

Far as I know the Corps is still around, so there should be anywhere from 4-8 GL's on Earth heh.

One for every sector the universe...and there are now 6 other groups.

Not to mention, whoever was writing it 50 years ago probably isn't involved, it'd be pretty @#$%ing stupid to say to the new guy "hey, we want you to do a reboot of this comic, you can change anything except he has to prefer vaginas over penises".
So is it an entirely new guy as the Lantern, or a current one who's supposedly been closeted in all his presence in the comics so far? I'm confused. :/

rank why are you not premium
while its very cheap, and affordable to anyone, I don't have access to foreign currency, my government established something akin to an economical blockade on my country, nobody can exchange their currency to ours, nor can we exchange our currency to someone else's without approval, and permission of my government.
I lack said permission. Wowhead doesn't accepts Bolivares. Can't get dollars any other way.
so.........................
so no RMAH for u?
What's an RMAH?

It's a reboot. DC went through a huge reboot of most of their storylines a couple months ago. Green Lantern is one of the latest additions to the new lineup.

heh, for me, the biggest irony when it comes to gay superheroes has to be Batwoman. Comic fans may know this very ironic tale.
She was added as a (rather shallow) romance interest for Batman waaay back in the 50's back when some of the "Moral Guardians" were concerned that the relation between Batman and Robin was gay in nature. She was unceremoniously removed from the comics (and actually killed off due to lack of popularity) on the 70s
And then BOOM, in modern days (2006) was re-introduced as if she had never been killed........................ except she's now a lesbian, and actually Renee Montoya's lover.
:P
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're giving gay people the right to be badass (And in a glorious way too, Batwoman REALLY KICKS SOME MIGHTY ASS) but its quite ironic to me that a character introduced exclusively to act as an "anti-gay" fix, ended up being gay herself.
xD
