The idea of being sectioned and then placed in foster care for being transgender and having a supportive parent is just wrong, regardless of age.

When will angry birds go away? I keep trying to ignore it and hope I'll stop hearing about it. Now it is on the front of foxnews.com. So irritating.
I just saw that same article, I can't believe they chose such a tenuous link for the headline and then tried to make it sound worrying, it's pure fearmongering (also hilarious).
For those wondering, it's
Powerful ‘Flame’ cyberweapon tied to popular Angry Birds game
.
Linked to
, is it? No, what they actually mean by that, is that Flame is written in
Lua
, and so is this virus. So basically, it's as meaningless and deceptive as:
Flame tied to World of Warcraft
The King James Bible tied to %^&* tha Police by N.W.A.
Classified Pentagon memos tied to NAMBLA
Yet it was built with gamer code, said Cedric Leighton, a retired Air Force Intelligence officer who now consults in the national security arena.
This guy is a moron too.
That's what you get for reading Fox News
Lol... You guys hate foxnews, with passion. Sounds familiar. Like every other liberal out there. You all are on the same page, as if you have a big... i dunno... bandwagon.
Anyway, I didn't find it deceptive. It said it was linked to game code, games such as angry birds. It went on to explain about lua. It said the things that you deceptively hinted that they didn't say "No, what they actually mean by that, is that Flame is written in Lua, and so is this virus. ", which is actually
exactly
what they said. If you want to pick on foxnews being deceptive, then find a legitimate complaint. Like ALL NEWS ORGANIZATIONS, foxnews has plenty or legitimate mistakes you can bring up.
The most irritating thing about this entire article is that it brings up angry birds, which I loathe. Can't they find a better game, or just talk about games generically? My ire has nothing to do with Fox, and everything to do with a turd of a game.

The point is, I think, that there's no point in saying "this virus and this game had a similar coding system", because it not only villifies gaming further to those who don't fully understand what they're reading, but it's completely redundant.

The most sophisticated and powerful cyberweapon uncovered to date was written in the LUA computer language, cyber security experts tell Fox News -- the same one used to make the incredibly popular Angry Birds game. LUA is favored by game programmers because it’s easy to use and easy to embed.
I rest my case.

I mean, in essence isn't it basically the computing equivalent of saying "this racist slur was said in English/German/French/enter language here". >.>
Edit: Words + Mouth. I never said it didn't say anything.

That's Fox, trying to get the most views by trying to scare people away from popular things

Oops- wrong thread. Saw the fox news discussion and thought I was in news articles.

So, on my original question, how long will I have to ignore it before Angry Birds will go away? What about Lady Gaga? Beiber? It seems like the more I try to ignore these irritating things, the more that are birthed each day.Oops- wrong thread. Saw the fox news discussion and thought I was in news articles.
Mentioning fox anywhere produces froth at liberal's mouths.

It seems like someone's message went right over your head yesterday.

OMG MyTie- you mean they keep coming out with games and music that become popular despite the fact that YOU don't like them? And then the people who do like them....talk about them? What a horror. I can't imagine the difficulty you must have with this burden daily.
If only there was some way to avoid those discussions. Like not frequenting sites devoted to them, or changing the channel, or something. That might make them easier to ignore.
Also parallel:
MyTie: Fox News
Haxor: Yuck Fox News, blah blah blah.
MyTie: I can't even mention it without you having to say how much you hate it.
Fox News: Angry Birds
MyTie: Yuck. When are they going to stop talking about freaking Angry Birds. It's a turd.
Me: So...they can't even mention it without you saying how much you hate it?

It's not that much of a burden, but I'm just curious as to how long it takes these things to wear off.

Ok Mytie here it is. You tread the grey zone. You are smart enough to know when to stop, and smart enough to know what to say to make it so that you don't break the rules, but at the same time get a lot of people worked up about your posts.
This warning is for trolling. While you see your post as a jest, some of the language presents of tone of disrespect and prejudice against other posters. It is very hard for some people to post on these forums, and while the regular users here have very tough skins and can turn almost anything around for the better, other posters are not that way. New posters do not know you. New posters will not take the time to get to know you if all they hear from you are posts written in an elitist and disrespectful tone. All in all, your words have the ability to upset people, and there needs to be a consiquence for that.
I think we can have a lot of fun in this thread. I think we will have a lot of fun in the other thread as well. I think you can bring a good-natured humor to the table. I ask you to watch what you write, and think about how others will react to it. In the end, it's not how you read your own remarks, it's how the other members read them, and it's how I read them. That was moderated into the QOTD thread for you to mull over. Your constant generalisations and inflammatory language don't really push you out of that grey zone.

Things wear off when they're not popular anymore. If a lot of people really like them, they never wear off- or at least not for decades. There are plenty of popular/ traditional things that I don't really care for, but that people keep around because they like them.

When will they stop putting these things in quote boxes? Seriously, I had no idea this existed.
Anyway, me not liking angry birds is hardly a troll or inflammatory to you personally.
