source? lol. Doubtful. Anyway, I've known many "rugged men" in my lifetime. Men of old fashioned southern soft spoken and humble character. They might not appear to be the brightest bulb in the bunch, and perhaps there are not loads of John Wayne style physicists, but some positive traits, I suspect, do correlate with them. Self reliance. Morality. Patience. Wisdom. I think you may have a very narrow and stereotypical view of the "rugged man".
Of course, but they're not necessarily the ones around the big cities where the marketing campaigns are primarily aimed at.
CEOs and managers in top companies earning big salaries are statistically more likely to be clean-shaven. I can look up some references if you really want.
Saying that it wouldn't be a wise advertisement strategy to provide fashion material in GQ for Farmer John is quite a bit different than saying that Farmer John is "not intelligent and possesses other negative qualities". I challenge you to go out of the city, back into the country, and aquaint yourself with a hard working rugged man. You might be surprised at how resourceful and clever they are. Put a rugged man in the city and he will survive. Put a city boy in the wilderness and I wouldn't bet on him.

Conceded. I should have said that they are
perceived
to have those qualities.

How did he play Pokemon if the game was destroyed? What did his dad do?
He had Blue version to fall back on. It says he beat it on that version but had just gotten Red.

Ok, I listened to Skrillex. It sounds kind of unfocused and clammy, like an NES soundtrack mixed with elevator music. The closest thing that I can think of that I actually like, that sounds remotely like Skrillex, is Smashing Pumpkins "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning".
Edit: With the exception that Smashing Pumpkins sounds like music, the way that you would think of food, while Skrillex sounds more like ingredients piled up on each other.

Played the demo as well. I found it pretty fun. I do believe it may be kinda bland story-wise, but I could really just play it for the awesome combat. I have definitely never played a more action packed mage before.

The combat system is outstanding without a doubt - but I agree, I think the story suffers/will suffer; obviously I don't have access to the whole game, but everyone seems to be talking about the gameplay and not enough about the story (though I did read something about the concept being interesting).

The way they take Fate in the world and the way Fate interacts with my character is interesting, but that is as far as I got in the story so dunno.
