The thing about hanging out with younger people in a chat forum is I have to put up with things like this. If it were 13 years ago, we'd be talking about crappy Britney Spears vs Christina Agulera. This type of teenie bopper hype has been annoying since the days of grease, but there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Stop wasteing your time with celebrities and learn math.
I'm young, but I'm into the old man's music. I wish I was alive in the 70s.
I like that Old Time Rock 'N' Roll,
That kind of music just soothes the soul.
I reminisce about the the days of old,
With that Old Time Rock 'N' Roll.

That's called mid-life crisis music.

Precisely.
Carry on, wayward son...
(If anyone continues the lyrics I will love him/her forever)
There'll be peace when you are done!
Lay your weary head to rest!
Don't you cry no more!

I thought you lost all respect for me and stopped talking to me. That made me happy >.<
Also, its not a waste of time to have fun. Its not like you don't discuss music in here. Every other day or so I see you and Laihendi bring up some boring classical
crap
stuff, I don't bother to get in the conversation however.
I'm not avoiding you at all. I think you have issues, like everyone else. I think one of your issues is pride. Just because I was willing to argue with you about something and just because I think you are flawed doesn't mean I hold it against you. Expect me to talk to you just like I do everyone else here.
But, no, I don't hate you, or even think bad thoughts about you, or anything negative like that.
Edit: That goes with everyone. If I argue with you about something, or am blunt with you, I rarely continue negative thoughts beyond that post. We're all friends, and that's valuable.

History > math
This is a good debate. I'm not sure which side I would choose.
Math - Vast scientific and technological advances that could never happen without it. They are the reason we have... most everything. Even the desk your computer sits on was designed with angles, and more math involved than you realize. Music, architecture, pharmacutical, etc etc etc.... Science would cease to exist without it.
History - Without a documented account of what happened, we would be doomed to repeat the same mistakes. I think if history were better understood, the country would be in a lot better shape. The morality of man's future is within his history.
Both so important...

math = history, but history is actually fun, so history > math

Sometimes, but some parts of history can be really really escruciation (spelling?). I've also had some math lessions that were very interesting, but you kinda have to 'get it' in order for it to be fun, and then it is better than anything.

Laihendi has only heard of one guy really getting excited about math, and he was high.

The problem with math is that it's a left-brain kind of thing and that it's forced upon you whether you like it and are good at it or not.
The problem with art and artsy things is that they are a right-brain concept. But art isn't forced upon you.
That being said, I prefer art and things like that. Right-brainer's ftw!

Math plays a large role in art.

Proportional sculptures require math.

I love art, and I am a pretty good sculptor and painter if I do say so myself.
I have never used math while making art
(except for using a ruler to measure something). I just eyeball things and do what looks good to me...
QFT!
Urgh, math. It gives me shivers just thinking about it!
