Im going whit an enhanchement shaman atm, we went 1942rating in 2days. working pretty good for me tbh.
also tryed whit a arcane/pyro mage, we went 1940aswell.
i would say that mage, shaman or rogue is the best parnter a moonkin can have in 2v2 atm.

Im also boomkin and atm i play with a ret pally - we do great, the HoP on me is the killer move with this combo - as imo the only thing that rapes me is melee.
we have hit 1760ish before but atm at 1730ish, boomkin is pretty fail at 2v2 atm - if you achieve a rating higher than 1700 consider yourself pretty pro.
The key for boomkin in arena is the 3v3 bracket, great combo's and your utility is amazing.
1800 in 3's atm with resto sham and my ret from my 2v2.
The other suggestions though (rogue/boom - mage/boom) etc. are great combo's i vs'd a rogue/boom in 1750ish bracket, damn they we're pro - a stressful combo though, ive tried with limited success.

this combo though, enhance sham/boomkin - its very intriguing.
Could you possibly post some strats against common teams - ie. holy pally/DK etc. I spose now with hex shamans in the 2v2 bracket are pretty strong.

didnt even think of the wolves/trees + bloodlust pwnage.
might start scouting for a enhance sham on my server >.> pitty good ones that actually pvp are so rare - on my server anyway.

For 2v2 or 3v3, you pretty much need a great healer (disc priest/resto shaman/holy pally) or a CC-heavy class (rogue, mage, hunter, death knight) to keep things off of you. Since you're playing the Boomkin, you know that about as soon as melee touches you, the game is over. However, if given room to cast, you make life all sorts of difficult for your enemy.
For 3v3, I've heard 2x mage (preferably both with Improved Counterspell, and one with Blast Wave) and boomkin is rather interesting though nothing on the power of the combo. If you can keep yourselves together, they take care of each other rather well.

using the Glyphs of Wrath and Entangling Roots. I've played around with various third glyphs. Moonfire and Starfire are more common, though Regrowth makes for a nice boost to healing abilities. Nature's Swiftness I often use for Healing Touch for anti-burst survivability, though I've got it keyed to Cyclone and Entangling Roots just-in-case. I wish they'd allow it for all spells (namely Starfire).
Owlkin Frenzy has struck me as rather useless in the current pvp environment, but I'd love to be wrong on the issue. A part of me would like to take Improved Moonkin Aura to get Starfire off faster (3% haste), but it doesn't feel like enough, not even with +spirit to spell damage (our pvp gear doesn't have spirit from what I've seen). The one point in Eclipse is there because despite a low proc rate, you get the same boost to damage/crit as 3/3 Eclipse.
Personally, I'm looking at rolling 2v2 with a rogue or mage and 3v3 with both.

Some very good points! If spec'd into Brambles (a good chance for a pvp-oriented Boomkin), then that'd help with the Elemental Shaman taking a brunt of the hits (likely, if the combination works like I imagine) using Thorns.
Honestly, I just don't know enough about Shamans and their talents/spells. From what I can gather, they'd be using some sort of 1x/5x/0 build that gives they a lot of hybrid feel with spellcasting and melee.
I'm just not sure on how tactics would work. A part of me imagines the Shaman staying out front, tanking if you will, with the Boomkin supporting. Another imagines a sort of "Totem fort" with the Shaman protecting the Boomkin who assists through various means. In either case, I'd hope for the Shaman to use Frostwhatever weapon to apply a slowing effect to the melee guys, allowing the Boomkin the space to cast but seems like it would hurt the Shaman's DPS to do so.
My best friend is a Protection Warrior. Perhaps I'll just roll with him. Hamstring, Revenge, Concussion Blow, Vigilience, Shockwave, Shield Slam, Shield Reflect, Disarm, Blood Craze, Warbringer with the Glyphs of Revenge, Hamstring, and Blocking/Last Stand (Charge and Bloodrage for minors)... a Protection Warrior could be a Moonkin's best friend in terms of surviving, giving us room to cast, and keeping us safe from both melee and casters. It would, however, be a combination that focuses on longevity that would likely require an early Innervate / Endless Mana Potion on my end so they can be used later.
