Would a slower weapon suit deep wounds more?

For multitarget tanking, a slow weapon significantly increases the damage done by deep wounds. For singletarget tanking, the difference is minimal, and completely overshadowed by other effects (particularly heroic strike).
So it depends on the situation. For pretty much all bosses, a fast weapon will be far better than a slow one.

Since most of your autoattacks will be turned into heroic strikes (or cleaves on trash), rage generation from attacking is not really an issue when choosing weapon.

Over a 4 minute fight, that's 150 white attacks with a 1.6 weapon and 93 white attacks with a 2.6 weapons. Lets assume you are a decent spammer and get 90% of your attacks to be heroic strikes. By using the slow weapon you are missing out on 51 heroic strikes. That's a total of 495 * 51 (495 being the bonus damage from the HS) plus another 259 *51 (259 being the bonus threat from the HS), all times 207% defensive stance modifier for a total of ~25k more damage and ~80k threat (or 333 tps).
Now lets compare the DW stuff. Slayer of the Lifeless has average damage of 215 and and Broken Promise is 392 (391.5...) A DW proc does 48% of your weapon's average damage over 6 seconds, so 140 for SotL and 188 for BP, so 48 more per deep wounds proc. I'll assume that there's no threat modifier on DW, so each DW proc would be ~100 threat.
So over a 4 minute fight you would need ~520 deepwounds procs to equal out the damage from the missing heroic strikes, and ~800 deepwounds procs to equal the missing threat.
I guess to be fair I'd have to factor in Devastate too since you'll be hitting for harder Devastates with Broken Promise. In a 4 minute fight you have 160 GCDs to work with. Being generous and saying one in three of your GCDs go to Devastate, that's a total of around 50 devastates during the fight. And at this point... I'm a bit at a loss of calculating devastate damage. I'm not exactly sure if and how AttackPower plays into it. Your devastates would have to hit for an average of around 400 or so more than your SotL devastates in order to make up for the 25k damage difference.
Bah, big long useful post; in the end wasted.
