Something about killing scripts things never interested me much. I know it gets more complex than that, but no matter how hard the fight I found DPSing absolutely boring. I just could never get into the PvE DPS aspect of the game.
Healing on the other hand makes me feel like I'm doing something. I feel like I'm responding to something more real, and it feels a lot less dull. Things aren't so straightforward as just basic nuking rotations and it makes PvE somewhat interesting.
In either case, PvP always wins out. It feels much more intense to respond to an actual person who could at any given time respond in a totally unexpected way; and even when they respond expectedly, the play feels much more real and challenging. It's nice to be able to manipulate what I'm facing in ways you simply can't with a computer. The human brain is just all-around a more challening and interesting opponent than any script can be.
