Mitigation in Heroics- What am I doing wrong?

Here's
my armory, for starters.
I've been tanking heroics pretty much since I hit 80 and respecced. That means I've only been prot for about two weeks at this point, but as you can see, my gear/spec aren't half bad, and I've done my research. 540 defense, 25k health unbuffed. I'm gemming and enchanting as best I can with my budget, and I'll definitely be replacing some pieces soon (like those trinkets. I have done HoL so many times it's not even funny).
My problem is that I am still getting absolutely CREAMED in heroics. I party with a resto druid, and with HoTs on me she's still casting Healing Touch or Nourish nigh constantly. And that's on trash. I know I'm not crittable anymore, and my avoidance is decent (I hope). Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Please help me, my guild is doing their first Naxx run this weekend, and I'm apparently going to be the main tank.

In actuality, your gear is wonderful for just starting Naxx.
In which certain heroics are you getting creamed on? Remember that mobs always hit hard. The only way to prevent this is through mitigation, or stamina. Of course enchanting or re-enchanting your gear helps a big deal for anybody. Try doing that to some of your armor. If you can get the mats, Armsman to gloves works great. And for your weapon, I recommend Potency or Lifeward. Its up to you.
In your particular situation, I recommend the temporary stop in "rating" mitigation, such as dodge, parry, block rating, etc. Because they may hit you
less often
but when they do hit you, it shows in the healer's face.
I hope that helps =)
Calling my gear wonderful probably did more for my confidence than any actual advice will.
I guess I sort of imagined that after a certain point of gear, I'd stop taking so much damage. Thanks for reassuring me that mobs are always going to be smacking me around.

I think you avoidance is really low. But other than that you'll do fine as an MT in the entire Naxx 10, and most of Naxx 25 too I think.
Oh, and I see parry/defense gems on your gear.
Never
do that, if you want to socket a similar gem, go for dodge/defense but never parry. (I know that if you look my profile you'll find a parry/def gem but that's simply because nobody on my server can craft the dodge/def one)

First of all mitigation=amount of damage reduction from armor, avoidance=damage reduction through stats that help you avoid being hit (or taking full damage as with block). Hope I don't sound nagging but using the correct wordage will hopefully help you get better responses (though most people do use both terms as the same).
I guess I will correct the corrector. Avoidance is Miss, Dodge, and Parry; things that make it so you take no damage. Block (which you lump in with Avoidance) is NOT avoidance, it is mitigation.
So again, important mitigation statistics would be Armor, Stamina, Block Rating, Block Value. Avoidance is Miss, Dodge, and Parry.

Stamina is not mitigation. It's not avoidance either. If you want a category to lump it in, effective health is one obvious option.

I suppose Effective Health (which overall is a mitigation concept) is what I was driving at. Of course Stamina is not in itself mitigation, but your stamina pool is what mitigation is all about.

As for heroics:
- macro Shield Block with Charge.
- get Improved Revenge

Your gear is more than fine for heroics, although your block rating is on the low side, I dunno why. Perhaps the druid is used to healing pallies or warriors with higher block rating? You probably take damage in spikes and they aren't used to that. As long as you are popping shield block on large trash pulls, you shouldn't be having any problems staying alive. It sounds like it's the druid in this case.
Which heroics are you getting creamed in? Try running a couple of the easier ones to let the druid get used to healing you (even two players of the same class and similar gear require different healing strategies), or use some cc if you have it. There is nothing wrong with using cc in a heroic when you have it, don't get in the mindset of "I'm too leet for cc" because that is just stupid. Also, don't be afraid to use Last Stand or Shield Wall on large pulls, with the current short cooldowns there is no longer any reason to have debate in your mind about popping them.
